Dude my neighbor convinced me to get one of the chat now phones when we were little, and my mom was so pissed because it cost like $60 and she didn't wanna pay that much for a stupid toy😂 Eventually I begged her to the point of her giving in... I had a hot pink one, and my friend had a blue one. I remember going to the pool with them and thinking we were so cool😂 I also remember we could text from our houses, so I told her to come over one day when my parents weren't home, so she sneaked into my yard, and I let her in through the back door, and we ate mac n cheese.. then when my mom came home, she ran and hid until the coast was clear to go home 😂😂😂

I was born in '99 so I was a literal infant during the last moments of the 90s. I hate when people disregard the early 00s or treat the entire decade like the 90s but terrible because our generation was responsible for stuff like the iPhone, taking music videos off of MTV, and the Star Wars prequels. I remember stuff like Blockbuster and the green ketchup and to be honest, the Gamecube is ten times better than the N64. There I said it.

i have a hit clips story people. so yall KNOW i had that gray and purple boom box and had hit clips comin out the wazoo! i had rascal flatts, britney spears, N!SYNC, backstreet boys- you name it I HAD IT. anyway fast forward to the year 2004. im at a yard sale my grandmother is having and my young balla self was like "yeah i got some old crap to sell" so i brought my shit up to a table ready to give away my old stuffed animals for some candy cash, all the while jamming out on my boom box hit clips. i step away, obvs to handle a potential buyer, and my grandmother SELLS MY EXTENSIVE HITCLIPS COLLECTION AND BOOMBOX FOR TWO DOLLARS. first of all, TWO DOLLARS? for my entire COLLECTION?? no way. second of all grandma, i was listening to those clips while i sold my 7 year old soul. i know i may have seemed like a straight G up to this moment but i saw my grandmother ready to pocket the cash and started bawling. i grabbed my older brother's wrist and told him grammas selling something i love and continue to effectively flood the driveway. after explaining the mishap the poor horrified and innocent mother gave me my hit clips back. the world was right again, but my cheeks were still as stained with tears as my memory is tainted with the trauma that was almost losing my hit clips.

2000s were my favorite time. Grew up in that phase especially 2002 to 2008. Tape cassette audiobooks, PBS kids, My mom recording magic school bus on the TV for me. Teen titans. The glory days of Cartoon Network, animal planet and history channel. My big old windows XP pavilion. jumpstart children’s games. Then playing zoo tycoon, Red alert 2 command and conquer, and age of empires. The big tape cassettes camera she used to film me playing piano. The time when blockbuster still existed.
