Hey thanks for the comment! I’ve definitely thought about it. I just don’t like the idea of feeling pressure to post because I know people are paying for it. I fear it might ruin the fun and passion I have making videos. But I’ll keep it in mind and it’s awesome to hear that, anyways! 👊

I just threw my first disc two days ago.. absolutely love the game! Same feeling I got when I hit a golf ball 22yrs ago and the feeling of flushing a long iron is one of the greatest feelings for me.. I can barley throw a disc 150ft and I can’t wait or throw crisp and pure like this over and over! Amazing videos Simon!

It’s because finding the absolute perfect line just brings such great joy to the heart of a disc golfer. That line is sacred, and what better way way to test the perfect line than by removing the chains and pole. It has to be perfect, and when you nail it you know you threw the perfect shot. In my opinion.

You know the first way to hole out on an old non tree, non light pole, non hitting object course that was a nearly permanent disc golf course was with a thing of wire mesh 8 inch tall with hooks or the big garden fabric/plastic staples keeping the basket to the ground that eventually was a round 2.5 feet diameter or about 65 cm. The Basket part Simon is putting the disc into is about that dimension just up from being in the ground. The first versions of the wire hole in the ground were used in Rochester NY. The holes in the ground were small cardboard boxes brought out for use on one course and tournament then after that some big wire round holes that were too big on the ground for some all around tournament that Dan Roddick after that the standard 1.5 diameter with some stronger wire for the more permanent courses made in the 1970's in 1974 a few years before the pole holes, tone poles, and in 1977 finally the Mach 1 baskets came out for more courses then just the Oak Grove course. At the time emulating ball golf was the answer and some courses even after baskets including the Cone basket used mostly in Minnesota area and parts of Canada, were these concrete tubes in the ground with a pole in the middle. Tone poles still got used a bit in the early days of the basket as production baskets were hard to get as they were made only by DGA by Ed Hendrick on a course by course bases.
