Trying to Break Kingdom Come Deliverance - Skalitz, Full of Exploits and Murder - More Max Level

Lets start out that I do like this game a lot and I think the developers did a fantastic job making it.
But...but, how can this still be a thing? I mean it has been over three years and Skalitz is the starting location everyone goes through. I mean, it should be fool proof for these sort of exploits, but hey I am not too miffed about it. Honestly, I had to really go through and really try to figure this out, with some help of people pointing the way.

Some of them were just hindered a little by the huge bugs at launch. And another thing that sometimes buggs me is the topic of stolen items... HOW DO YOU KNOW THE SAUSAGE I TOOK FROM THE DEAD GUY IS STOLEN? or the realism in shooting bow and arrow. As an archer myself it is really difficult to capture in a game what goes into shooting an arrow but I always felt that even at lvl 20 the yew warbow's drawspeed was just too slow compared to what it actually is. Obviously you have to strike some sort of ingame balance aswell but still...

Haha, well yes there is an explanation for this. These earlier videos I was using a really cruddy mic (Headset mic) and I was trying to do some audio improvements and testing them out on these videos. The newer videos I bought a new mic and it sounds far better than anything else and no need to really play with the audio :P

If you want to train bow without killing anyone you can just keep shooting the sheep, which will respawn. You level hunting then as well

That is true, but the hardest thing is having enough arrows. The arrows seem to break a lot more on animals, and unless you knock out the guards properly so they respawn some arrows you will eventually run out of arrows. But there are sheep near Rattay too ;)

Ah there are a ton of tips that tend not to get repeated because many people make the assumptions that everyone knows about it. But then people forget that new people are starting to give KCD a try again and those tips are long gone. Also there are a ton of things in KCD that can be done which makes the game pretty good ":)

You can make it on top of Deutch's house and shoot guards and even take cover from the archers on the other side of the roof

Yup :D There are tons of good spots in Skalitz to hide, it is almost impossible to mention them all. But I think the Deutch house is a great cover spot, especially if you have to deal with other archers. The woodpile is great for upclose shots when you do not have other archers to worry about.

I think killing and training are not hard at all in Skalitz, what’s hard is trying to killing all the guards without being noticed

You know that is a real challenge. A painful one to be honest, especially if I am not trying to save scum too much. The two guards that I think would be the toughest are by the castle draw bridge. You would have to get them lured out to investigate a body. Those two stand next to each other and you can't get behind them, there is an invisible wall on the drawbridge. I believe it can be done, but there is going to be a bit of training in stealth to pull that off :P

@@helicalgoose Believe me, I tried so hard... the two guards at the gate are actually not so hard, just lure them out and wait until they get to the inner gate, easy to stealth kill. But a lot of times, I thought i'd kill a guard without being seen and after couple of minutes, it says I'm wanted...it seems as though there's always some civilians hiding and watching...If I kill too many civiians, they won't spot the corpses to call the guards at the gate...

No, it's not. I've just finished this mission in hard mode with all negative perks. All you need is lvl 6 strength and lvl 5 stealth and dagger. With higher level of strength it will be easier, because several guards have chance to avoid your stealth attack. What about two lads near the castle you have to attract their attention using dead corpses of skalitz folk and when they (guards) will go back to the gate slow one of them with your body. Just walk in front of last guard and kill him when the first one will disappear from line on sight. I hope I've explained correctly.

@@wonniethepoop7856 I get what you're saying. From what I can tell the two named guards by castle are probably ultra flimsy and probably could be easy choked out. The way I would probably do it, is choke out that guy by the gate who is flinging hay and use his body to lure. I will have to test this out and see if those guards are easy to get armor/sword. The down side is that I do not think they ever carry a bow, which is really what I want :(

I have a silly question, I have seen you break skalitz over your knee 10 or more times. I am wondering; however, is there a way to train in Skalitz without losing reputation? I have played 95 hours on KCD, and 92 of those were spent in Skalitz, and I keep messing up and either being thrown in jail after 7 hours of not saving, or I am just not satisfied with my stats or reputation. Is there a way to sate my endlees need for the approval of NPCs while simultaneously gaining skills and experience.

Well the only way I can see that happening is punching cows and not getting caught. Which will be tough because of the villagers going around the side of the village, and if you do not kill them, they sort of cause problems. And the other ways to get exp usually takes punch someone or beating them up which drops the reputation. I know with Theresa's DLC you can train her up in Skalitz without losing a single point in reputation and that includes archery. Without losing rep you would have to go to Rattay and be free in the open world, Skalitz I do not think its possible without being more than extortionately careful. It is almost better to take the reputation hit and then just make all the Skalitz refugees happy by doing those quests all around which will get you back to 100 or close.

You can also create a user.cfg and put the cursor command in that using a text editor so you don't have to type it every time you launch the game.

Haha, I think this video got made right after the other one did quite well and I tried fixing some editing problems, so I could see where it seems sort of "not showing something cool vibe" The other videos like "Beef jumping" or escaping skalitz is more original and showing something cool. But, I do miss that voice that you might be talking about, like holy smokes check this out, because I was not shocked myself but rather planning out earlier how to do something. Sort of a problem, unless I just did a straight streaming which can be boring if there is lots of dead time, especially with this game.

It is sort of a relief to myself to know that I match or tops some of their videos, it is letting me know that I am doing something right in making these videos. This still works for PC nothing has really changed in the time frame. The only thing that it screws with is your reputation with Skalitz and Rattay. Also you will be charged with murder too most likely, meaning you will have to stay in jail for ten days or either wipe out all of Rattay to show them who is boss :P And I could've sworn I replied to you before, but I feel like youtube comments section is being strange. A few people it says I have not replied to, but hope this finds you well :D

I have heard that there is a bug for that crashing the game. Are you on PS4 or Xbox by chance? On PC I am able to get around it quite easily by ending combat by "surrendering" or paying money to a guard, but other than that I thankfully never had to deal with a bug crash like that. Maybe what you can try is ending combat and seeing if afterwards you move to get out of the tutorial area and escape Skaltiz that the file sort of "re-adjusts" itself back to a usable state. The game get fussy when we mess with it too much :P

This game is so buggy. I just lost 6 hours of progress bc I dropped gear and it glitched in the air landing on my head, preventing me from moving or jumping and couldn’t be picked back up again permanently trapping me there and when I paused the game I couldn’t move in the menu or unpause pausing me to quit the game and lose all my progress.

The way to deal with this, is to try and fast travel. It sucks but, sometimes that works for me. The other way, is to go into inventory and drink a save potion then reload the game and hope it drops you out somewhere else. Typically when things land on you, when you save and reload, it will put you on top of the item to prevent you from being "stuck" anymore. Sorry to hear about the lost of progress. Do check the old logs maybe there is something closer. Typically I try to drop a save every hour if possible because this game can either cause me break Henry's ankles in the middle of nowhere or bug makes me go crazy.

I found a weird trick. If you’re way over encumbered and standing as close to the cow as you can be, you can stab it without it running away. It doesn’t work with punching though

Too many. They would have to rebuild the game from scratch. ;) I also did another video about spots like that in towns where guards are more oblivious than ever, because they lack the ability to look up. But to be fair, this is a huge game, spots like this will happen. Also, I did not even notice this on my first few times playing this game.

With the guy stacking hay, i've actually killed him by knocking him out a lot of times. You can farm the money for a while though after several hours of knocking various people around town out over and over the guy stacking hay does die from being knocked out. I didn't notice until the guards yelled there's a corpse. but I definitely just knocked him out. I tend to get my stealth up to around 16 and lockpicking up around there as well. once you reach lvl 15 with lockpicking you can pick every lock in skallits including the house doors across from the inn, which I believe is the bailiffs house.

You bring up something that is really strange in Skalitz area about knocking people out and just killing them. I have seen this on a bunch of villagers too. I thought it was just because I knocking them out in their beds was the issue, but it happens all around. The animation makes this strange knock out where Henry just does an extra "bump" movement then the person is dead, like wtf! I needed them to train my stealth on! This is the only location I know that does this, and no idea why it happens. Maybe it was put in to prevent people from building up their stealth to max here? Hard to say. Ah and the other house is the bailiff's house! I killed him before but he does not drop a key. I am guessing there is nothing special in there? I was going to try to beef jump into that place but have not gotten around to it.

@@helicalgoose you can pick the locks once your lock picking is at lvl 15 or 16. There's just two chests in there with maybe 30-40 grochen or so.

Yup, the way to get that dot to stay put is if you have PC, it only works on that. But what you need to do is open up the console command line, then type wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 Then put away and pull out your bow again. After this, the dot will stick around, until you restart you game. Best of luck and enjoy! :D

If you're talking about the Deutsche quest beating those people up, it sort of "breaks" when you reload. Aside from them being invulnerable, your teammates become inactive and just sit around. The downside is that you now can not get the lockpick. But you can still get out of Skaltiz without completing this quest.

If you stick people in a barrel and have their legs do the crazy fold up thing, they just get back up like some crazy yoga stuff. Now if you toss them into a deep river in my attempts they do not die but sort of get stuck. Eventually they get themselves free from the hole, but I do not think they die. I am not certain if I did not have them deep enough in the water or not, but their heads were mostly underwater.

Ive come to realise the vast majority of my time across numerous save files is spent dicking about in Skalitz. Bring on Kingdom Come 2's tutorial level.

I think just messing around this area is unique and brings on a small challenge to see how badly you can mess with this game :P But I still can not pin point why destroying skalitz is more fun than destroying anything other town in Kingdom Come. And I really do hope Kingdom Come 2 has a tutorial area that we can just mess up as well :P

@@helicalgoose What makes it so special is the juxtapose of how worthless, hopeless and thankless Henry should be in the opening act of the game to how strong he can be, and all it takes is a little know how. It helps massively that this game is a proper RPG that may not be as robust as the old, purely text based RPG's but stands on its own as a fully voice acted RPG, so actions have consequences... That is apart from in Skalitz. Skalitz is like a lucid dream, every other town you pillage feels like it has meaningful consequence and things can get messy and out of control down the line. Skalitz is it's own little game, the whole point up until handing Theresa the nails is basically a character creation. Will I be champion warrior, a honed wordsmith, a master thief or just a cow puncher? The choice is yours.

Well said! :) The RP element of the game is very refreshing compared to other open world RPGs. This one sort of tries to get you to play along being a role playing game. Rather other games expect you to act like an idiot like me and have a story sort of to keep you progressing down their own gameplay line.

@@helicalgoose yeah it was a total fluke, i had just saved and then turned around and accidently tried to take down the guard and it worked. He had a ton of armor and weapons so i was overencumbered and had to drop a bunch of loot in a near by empty shed. I died tho and had to try it like 6 times before it worked again.

What patch is this KCD? I don't think this is the latest patch. I bought KCD from GoG a long time ago, patch it to latest version, and I know that Skalitz guard is not to be trifled...and definitely not just surrender after you shot him one time. Furthermore, those straw hat dude in the beginning...I remember vividly that I must dispose his body (killed him that day) behind the stables because your mother patrolling in and out of those castle gate (she just refilling her family bucket of water from nearby well...).

This should be the latest patch, well time of posting the video. I have the steam version and it auto-updates. Yah the straw hat guy is not a big deal. If they find the body but not find you when they find it immediately then everyone just goes oh well, dead guy. The one shot to the guard was surprising to me too. It was a head shot, so maybe? Hard to say. The damage on weapons goes on a range, I probably got very lucky on that and got him down on health.

@@helicalgoose In KCD luck is definitely something... I got saved once near ruined Skalitz (vs high level bandit) by patrol...Idk how, they just start beating each other while I run..and run until ran out of stamina...

Starting out playing KCD, running into those high level bandits with plate armor is terrifying. The only thing you can do is just run. What I am thankful for, is that bandits do not (or not often) high level archers. If you get dinged by some of those arrows your poor horse or yourself will go down really fast.

You just need to complete the quest from your father. I do not think there is a way to fail, unless you kill the guards by the gate and you do not loot the crossguard you need for making the sword before the body disappears. That is a way to break the game right there ;)

@@joshuamcanally5397 Really? That is an odd one. You might have to reload from an earlier save, which hopefully you do have one. The other thing is to give him time to calm down. If your father is in a panic about bodies they usually wear themselves out after about 10 minutes because they can't find a guard. Then you should be able to talk to him. If there are more bodies around when he gets tuckered out then he restarts the process which could be happening. The NPCs report one body at a time and run around like crazy. Then the next. From what I can tell they never get freaked out by the same body, so eventually he should calm down for you to talk to him :)

If you kill jonkah and then raise up your skills against the thugs how do you finish the quest?

The best way is to have 200 groschen handy (by selling beef) and then you punch a guard and surrender to them right away. They will ask for 200 groschen to pay off the fine and then the quest will be over and you can continue on :D Otherwise, if you get caught by a guard it could be problematic without the 200 groschen you basically get a game over :/

@@Joe_Friday Ah, if you're playing on normal mode, they put in an auto-save at the start and end of every quest that does help out. The save potion is a bit a nuisance, but honestly after awhile I hardly notice it. Mostly because I steal every potion I could ever use, but that is beside the point :P In the future if they make another game it should be one of those optional things to have in the game, or either a hardcore mode only thing. But at the start the groschen is low and 200 seems a bit to save, but that does go away after awhile ;)

I do not think so, not for Skalitz at least. But I would not worry about that since you can buy lockpicks at Talmberg easily, or with all the armor you have already leave Talmberg almost immediately.

Spent like three hours trying to do this, I only choked the bow guy five times, beat him up twice using the small hill by him. I don’t even know how to do the cow glitch and I’m almost never high enough level to actually use the bow, in strength or agility, anybody got any tips or info?

Sure, what part are you having trouble on? The guard knocking out is a % chance roll and at these lower levels you're more likely to get caught. The thing I liked to do is stealth take downs of all the villagers that walk on the outside of the village to gain a bit of stats for stealth before I try the guards. Also I build up a bit of strength with the cows. It will take a bit of stabbing and skill gain to level up strength maybe 20-30 mins of work, but you should be able to use the bow after that, not unless the guard drops a really good bow that requires level 10 str. But yah if you need more help just ask and I can help out if you need.

You know after editing the video for awhile, I really think Skalitz is just a really large hunting reserve for Henry. There are places that you can go to hunt animals to hunt in a caged arena. Skalitz is just that place for Henry chasing down peasants.

Another, a bit more peaceful way. Farm 200 Groschen, then punch isolated guards, run even further away, surrender, pay yourself free, wait, till the guard goes back towards his positon, sneak up on him and knock him out. Steal your Groschen and all his gear.

That works out pretty well with the guard that I knock out earlier in the run. The problem is that you have to lead them away otherwise other peasants will start calling other guards over and they will come with swords drawn O.o So that works, but it can be problematic.

You killed Zbyshekk in your previous video. Can you kill him before the fight? Those 2 guards standing at the castle normally apear later at Ratay castle. Will they appear there even if you killed them in Skalitz? One of those guys also is in a cutscene at the end of the game so if hes dead that would be interesing

I believe he is immortal. Last time when I killed Zbyshek, it was after I did the little tavern quest. Until that tavern quest is complete those three guys have an immortal tag, which is useful for practicing on. And thanks for the tip on the castle guards. You know I killed them and went to Rattay and did not see them guarding the stairs like they normally do. However, other people in Skalitz get respawned back and I do not know why. I will take a look see what is up. I have not completed the game with maxed out Henry, sort of been trying out other exploits in the game. Skailtz had more fun in it before I could work on other exploits.

hey idk if u already know this or not, but the towns people and guards, and sheep will respawn after and hour of real world time. i had all the guards killed for a while and i was walking around picking herbs and all of a sudden a fucking guard appears and kills me out of nowhere. i found out that they will respawn over and over so you can keep using them to build your skills. Also theres a rock against the wall you can stand on to where the cuman cant hit you and you can kill him, but you gotta hurry cause theres two more cumans coming.

Hmm I am not certain if this is true in Skaltiz. I killed a few villagers and guards long long ago like first hour in the game to max out the guy and they stayed dead. I think in Skalitz time if frozen, and since time does not progress, the people do not come back. It is true once you get out of the tutorial area that time passes and guards and villagers do come back. Then again I was only in the Skalitz for about 10 hours and maybe needed more. The rock thing is true and too easy to do. :")

The crossguard for radzig sword, i had 3 of them becasue i stayed there and the guard respawned. All the villagers hated me tho once they respawned and would run when they saw me.

100% agreed. If they ever make KCD I would really like them to at least give the option to put on the little dot. Like have it off by default if you want, but please...I don't need to come home from work and want to blow off steam with a game and figure out which way drunk hunting Henry is going to shoot his arrow. Its really not that bad with practice, but that only comes after 20+ hours of messing with the bow.

Hmm, last time I check (today actually) by steam current patch it still is possible. I have had really good luck where I choked out guards 5 out of 5 times and really bad luck where I get caught 5 out of 5 times. It is a luck of the draw sort of thing. I have not been able to figure out how to make it better other than grinding stealth like a madman. But I want my bow and armor now sort of deal. I would say keep trying, but it can be frustrating to have to scum save a bunch.

Yah it is a tough one to determine. I seem to have better luck on lightly armored people, my guess their strength is lower which might be helping(?) I know that higher stealth does make stealth choke outs easier. Which you can grind against the villagers, but it is so god awful boring. I do not know what would be better, the grind or the fail reloads. And the PS4 version I wish I knew more about. The consoles version is quite seems quite a bit tougher in every aspect. I do not know if they constantly update that version, so there might be some old bugs that still work on that but other things may not work that I am doing on the current PC version :(
