My husband inherited his late father's old train set. The first few years we had it our daughter was an infant and toddler. We set it up when she was 3. The next year we had a dog so we didn't set it up. We do have an extra tree now, and she wants to set it up in the attic in her bedroom, so maybe we can put the train around that tree instead of where the dogs can get at it!

I've noticed that a lot of the pre-made starter homes, such as the one vacant lot in Britechester, the single-bedroom house in Evergreen Harbor, and ESPECIALLY the starter home in Midnight Hollow, are really skinny and have the dullest colours. The kitchen and living room in the Britechester one aren't counted as separate rooms by the game because of how the wall between them was placed.

Just a little advice about saunas in houses. You typically don't just have them on their own. There is usually a bathroom with a shower right next to them, so you can clean off after sweating. I had experience with this because when I was a child my family house sat a mansion for a year and it had a basement sauna.
@blorbidorbi
@blorbidorbi 2 жыл бұрын
I was about to comment the same thing as I'm someone who is from Finland where every house has a sauna :D I currently share a sauna with the rest of my apartment building since I live in a tiny student studio, but most apartments have their own saunas here. But whether they're in a house or apartment, they're always attached to the wet room (bathroom), so in order to use the sauna you have to go through the wet room. Public saunas always have a changing room and showers attached to it as well. The wet room helps keep the steam and moisture contained so all the wetness doesn't spread to other rooms :)

@@Theadhdentrepreneur if I’m being honest I don’t even know if there’s a reason for it. People use them in the summer when it isn’t cold and people use it without exercising before.🤷‍♀️ I think it’s just a tradition and saunas are built in every house so there is easy access for everyone

I live in Sweden and in the winter sometimes it can get as cold as -20 c because of this it’s very common to have a sauna inside of your house and a lot of new houses have a built in sauna. Also, my house (which is a not very big 1850 house) have had a fireplace in almost every room. My guess is that we have had about seven fireplaces (only five of them are left) but all of these only need two chimneys because of them being connected, but obviously all of our fireplaces aren’t in the same place which means that we need two chimneys. So in my professional opinion it is very realistic for a house this size to have at least three chimneys. So there’s my very long explanation of why you’re right ;)
@DRodriquez

Having a basement in a small/medium suburban house is really nice because I suck at floor plans so it gives me extra space to add like a laundry room or family room. It’s an opportunity to do lots of fun things, like add a kitchenette or entertainment space. I’ve even put a bowling alley in a basement before

I had a Playmobil train when I was a kid and we used to put it around the tree at Christmas. We also added a sauna under the basement stairs of our cabin. Very oddly shaped, but since it was on Silver Star mountain, in the winter, we'd run outside to roll in the snow to cool off, then run back into the sauna again! How can you tell I'm Canadian, eh? We also attended Christmas tree hunting parties for the first 20 ish years of my life. 💖

Hi Kayla I'm from Atlantic canada and I do have to say, where I live there are multiple houses with like four chimneys because a lot of the houses here are historical and belonged to people who first settled here so...that's cool and your house is accurate for a historical build in Canada. Also I have to agree with you skiing is terrifying! I would suggest snowshoeing or snowboarding both are less terrifying and in my opinion a lot more fun. Hi Kayla I love your videos they always make my day and I have came up with some build challenges that I made up in brain if you want to do them 1. A build challenge where you only have a certain amount of time to build each room for example only two minutes to do the kitchen or 5 minutes to do the exterior 2. Build a normal house but every item you use you have to make it your least favourite swatch so if you want this window you have to use your least favourite for another example Feel free to use them in your own save if you want

Hey Kayla and whoever sees this, my mom is a baker and she does a lot of gingerbread houses every year so I have a tip, decorate first then once it’s completely dry, assemble. The roof clipping glitch you were experiencing has been in the game a while. It happens when the roof has a wall piece that is as tall as the walls that are connecting to it. One way to fix it is to drag the roof to be 1 tile away from the house, and then pull the eves over to connect the gap and that way the roof walls and house walls don’t connect.

I’m 33 with no children but I have had a train around my tree for 8 years 😄😄😄 i love Christmas and although I live in a flat and have the biggest tree possible. 7.5ft high and 5ft wide, the train sits lovely at the bottom

We used to do the train set around the tree! My brother LOVED trains as a kid so it just made sense

I think its funny when you talk about florida like how it doesn't have basements etc, cuz i live in utah and pretty much every house has basements and chimneys, also we hav ehuge pretty mountains where i live, were actually building a house right on the base of them anyway, i was just in disney world (Saw you there!) And it is sooo differet than utah

I forget there is places that don't have basements.. I live in Colorado and the only places that don't have them are trailer homes and apartments.. but then again we also get tornados in the front range and the plains so we kind of need them during certain months lol

To answer the train question: yes my family did that when I was a child. I loved setting it up with my dad. And now my boyfriend and I put our train in our tree. It’s really cool.
