Just a suggestion: many builders use a stonecutter for crafting stone "detail blocks". It's not that expensive to make, considering the extent of your prepare stage here, and you save on material every time you make slabs, stairs etc.

Nice video, this inspires me to try a medieval build again! building is so fun when you figure out the best technique to fit your playstyle. Midievil builds in my opinion are the best-looking builds because they fit almost every biome, especially the spruce biome! Also, I think it would be so fun if you started a hardcore world series or something of that sort.❤ I think upgrading an entire village to make it look medieval would be epic

Cool video! A building tip I have for you would be to have a story for why every detail exists in the build. For example, why is there a raised platform for the build? Maybe it’s to get away from the hostile mobs. Then, maybe the entrance could be a little more secure. Another thing, like you stated, are specific details. You want the build to look realistic, so you want aspects from real life to be visible in Minecraft as well. There are pillars in real life to hold up the building and preventing it from collapsing. There are large windows to let in large amounts of sunlight. There are greenery in the build bc there are no greenery anywhere else and it feels like a ghost town. Even color also has a play. Blue represents the calmness, orange/yellow for warmth/and green for life.

If I'm filling in a decently sized area with blocks I like to spam place them in bursts of three. Usually I can set up the area with this in mind, like having a straight line I move horizontally across (Place three in front of me, move over one, place three) or a more narrow area with a few blocks of horizontal movement that I move backwards from. For me, this strategy has worked the best in the most situations, large and small scale, and I can get into a nice rhythm with it. Love the build! (Although, if I need to fill in a *really* large area, I use the exploit where you bind a key on the keyboard to place block, which spams it faster than I ever could, without hurting my hands at all)

The best way to feel motivated and get ideas for building is, at least for me, have a story. When you have a story to build from, with a general theme, it's easier to get wrapped into the world and imagine what happened in the builds and how they came to be. Whether you already have a story planned out, or you create the plot as you find inspiration throughout the world, having a defined world can make it feel more real, giving the motivation to see it come to life.

A couple really simple tips Walls bear the most load at the bottom so the bottom should always seem more cracked or rugged. This can be achieved through rougher blocks like cobblestone, the addition of stairs to make it look like a chunk is missing, stone buttons on the ground to make it look like a chunk fell out(you could also do this on the paths to look like pebbles), some mossy cobblestone or mossy stone brick and you can even add the occasional slab around the bottom wall for even more wear. For the color palette you can add dead coral, light gray wool, tuff block, mossy cobble or mossy brick and acacia logs. Also the ore blocks can add more color like stone and deepslate coal ore and same with iron. For the flooring you could use oak planks, with striped oak logs and beehives. Lanterns also would of looked amazing in this build. You could also at wall blocks in the corners of the building to add more shape. For the roof you could add a gradient with blocks like yellow wool, hay bales, yellow concrete, wax blocks, and honey blocks. And there also some really nice gradient roofs for blue and dark gray. Anyways nice build and hope you make this like a series.
