God, that one hit so damn hard growing up because they straight up tell you "one day, you're a kid and it's okay to not know where you're going, and then suddenly you're an adult and there's no manual, we're all just guessing as we go along" as well as "it's a given that your friends will grow apart and some you may never see again, that's just part of growing up". Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie for the era, but when you're in elementary school and the show about elementary school tells you to your face that growing up is lonely and confusing, well, I think that might have been about where my perpetual anxiety issues began because I'm almost 30 and I still have no fucking clue what I'm doing with my life
