I have several (Tulip shaped) that I've been collecting for a while. Of the three Japanese models that I currently have, The base of the input has a ground wire going to the tone pot. I experienced the "Buzzing/Static" too and shielded the electronics (pickups, volume and tone pots) with copper shielding. I also made sure wire from the base of the bridge was grounded to one of the pots and that eliminated all the bussing/Static. Thanks for a Good vintage video !

This guitar is essentially a deluxe version of my very first guitar. Mine was more like the one in the brochure, but I think mine only had a neck pickup, perhaps?

My first guitar! It was awful, but I made it work, but man did it buzz and hum, and crackle and pop. Neck was a cheese grater

That looks like a old Tesco which was a Japanese guitar manufacturer the places like Sears and Kmart used to use and yes you are correct when you say that is just a cheap little guitar but let me tell you what there's people out there that cherish those guitars

At 5:20, the bare wire ground-buss soldered to the back of the middle potentiomer has a cold-soldered connection ---- the wire passes through a tunnel in the blob of solder but the solder didnt "wet" to the wire. It'll need resoldering eventually....

looking at the brochure you have, the pickup at the fretboard is upside down.

Properly wired guitars should have less hum and buzz when the strings are touched; If touching these parts creates more noise this is an indication that it's missing a ground. You can use an ometer to check for continuity, or the lack of it, between the strings, bridge, tailpiece, pickup covers, output jack and all other exposed metal parts. They should all be connected together with no more than a few ohms of resistance between them.

Take a black plastic wire tie. Cut it and form it to fit the area where the binding is missing on fret board. Epoxy it in with clear epoxy. That should fix it.

You have to at least adjust the pickup height to get decent output.

Bad earth on the controls perhaps, and no earth on the pickup.
