Maybe you can set your goal a little bit higher. You're trying to make 20 bucks an episode? Take more chances and buy more stuff and see if you can triple that. You should do the show as if you were trying to make a living off of repairing electronic items. Just my opinion. Also maybe you should stay away from the expensive stuff because that really messes up the whole thing when you can't fix something you spend over $100 on.

How does a hardrive cause any problems with video? I dont believe anything your saying. A hardrive is a storage unit. For data. It has zero to do with video or audio output. I think you habe rattled something aroibd while fooling with the drive. But it makes no sense for a hardrive to cause video problems.

Looks like those boards are not of a super high quality if they get delaminated so easily. Like not sufficient dehumidication of layers before gluing them together or such.

Hey @Joey. Been watching for a while and enjoy watching the repairs. I have been wondering if you ever thought of RCM injection to attempt a boot switches that seemingly have no physical issues. Some switches running custom firmware require an rcm payload to boot. You’ll notice a blank screen with no backlight until it receives the rcm payload. I’m not sure what voltage they draw but I’ve had some No Boot switches from eBay with no physical issues that booted up first time with the RCMLoader.

As a diesel mechanic i was hoping i could do it myself lol all of them little screws are going to be the death of me. I'm going to send it in to be serviced 😅

With the second one you got a better one and it turned out great.. I had swapped in the Pikachu Case too to be honest.. didn't knew that special edition. Looks pretty nice with the black moldings. First time I tried repairing my board, I bubbled it. I'm a mechanic by trade, car died mid journey and found the ecu to be submerged. Got it home and took it apart, bought a donor to swap coded parts and didn't move the heat. Bought another donor, swapped parts successfully but kept having engine light come on, then eventually cut out again and found bad solder joints, that I created. Bought another donor and got it all working correctly. 80 pound a pop, but cheaper than the £2500 new ecu

Can you not reuse the APU from the first board on another unit? You often have major dead components that ruin an otherwise good board.

I did hear that in your part o' the world a good cure for being bunged up is to lurk around the docks late at night and make the "sign"... I will be "luvvly jubblying" this coming monday when I pick up my 3 wheel van finally fixed yay So next big job is a respray into Ford Daytona yellow which is what they used on Reliants and then ripping out the old LED's and putting in a complete new set for side lights and the rear lights, the old ones have lasted 13 years but chancing it for a 3 point lose and the ones I got to fit in are uber bright mini projectors :D You should grab one as a side hustle, get a vinyl done to say Joey Does Tech instead of Trotters, the old Regals are tax and mot exempt now, MK1 Robins and some Rialto's are too, my one goes exempt in 5 years.

i like that you buy from viewers, it feels like instead of just buying HDMI issues off ebay and the like you are able to get stuff that people have tried to fix because they learned its not rocket surgery from you so we get different repairs. plus you know some viewer is gonna troll you eventually.

Hi love your work , I don't know anything and you explain things really well. I was watching you charge this device and thought have you tried a Temp gun with a screen to see where on the device gets hot ? Not sure if that's a possibility but it came to mind. Have a great Xmas buddy 🎉

So that bubbling in the repairs department of a electronic manufacturing plant is what we call PCB delamination.
