For anyone wondering I figured it out. There are two flat clips that prevent the front ace from sliding out forward. One clip is exactly right above the gain knob stick a flat knife in it and press down for the tab to unclip the other is above the monitor dial knob

Be sure to put enough glue on the inside of the shaft you have,and know you don’t want it to go outside the jack. Also take a Q tip cotton swab,and put some lubricant in the female port on your focusrite.

Ok, so this exact thing happened to me. Same type of gold 1/8" to 1/4" adapter broke off inside. I freaked out and immediately disassembled it. The bit you're missing is the front panel has thin tabs running along the top. You must insert a flat screw driver from the back, flush along the top to release them. They were very tight for me. CAUTION, this step was somewhat pointless as the jack is in its own type of sleeve which is all soldered to the board. It is not just open, giving access to the interior of the jack. Ultimately I used a thin screw to puncture and grip the tip just going into the front of the jack. With great force and luck the tip was freed. It's been several months now but I think I damaged the jack in the repair prices and I'm looking to swap it out with a new one, hence how I found your video. Good luck! Good luck.

Remove the bac and try to pus from the back so it comes out the front....if it doesn't move, it is becaus the front panel has 2 plastic clips at the top, which hook onto the case. Get a long flat blade screwdriver and a torch, and reach in from the back above the board, and ease these clips off....

Did you fix it? I believe the best option to remove the lost part of the plug is to use glue in the tip of some small long shaft, as somebody already advised you. But you really want the teardown... looking from the back (open it up first) you will see, in the top inside of the red case, two rails (prominences) that goes from the back all the way to the front (again, inside). The panel is locked to the rails. Using some light you will see the plastic piece of of painel that is the lock, using a flat screwdriver push this against the case... at the same time press the board (to the front). It will move a tiny bit in the first side, then do the same in the other side. Panel and the board will go out from the front.
@PeteJohnsMusic
@PeteJohnsMusic 4 жыл бұрын
Nice one Rob! Yes, it’s still sitting there and I need to find some time to have a play with it soon. I think going in the front with glue is probably the beta option as even if I get it torn down, I’ve still got to get inside that jack anyway!

Still trying to figure out what in the hell is wrong with it other than the plastic cage that goes around the headphone jack being cracked. I typed microphone into my start box and went into other places that turned on mics, and gave permissions. you go and do the same places for audio and ear plugs. I uninstalled all software and then re-installed it for the focusrite. ableton, pro=tools. etc. I also went into ableton and made ableton use focusrite. @@PeteJohnsMusic I opened my scarlet 616 today. I pulled on a cable plugged into my 616 and it hit the floor right where my headphone jack was plugged in. The headphone socket was knackered. I found 2 screws underneath the rubber feet at the rear of the unit. Took them out and the main board just slides forward out from the front of the casing. I got inside and noticed the jack socket was broken into little pieces. I have asked focusrite for a replacement part which I will use to replace the broken one. So we have the same problem. You won't be able to get the tip out from the back because the socket itself is a closed unit (looks like a minature HGV trailer shape) So you will have to replace the socket. You have to disconnect an additional board on the mother board to get at it but it's pretty straightforward. Pull the switches off the front (like you already have) and you have one screw for each of the xlr ins (located at the back behind the front panel) which release the front panel. Then just unsolder the old one and in with the new. Good luck. Edit: You could try pushing in another jack(minus the tip) with a dab of superglue on in the hope it might bind to the two together. After holding it for about 5 minutes and a quick prayer, it might just come out in one go. I wouldn't worry too much about the rubber feet, you can find them all over ebay.
