Trying to learn calligraphy. ✍️ Tom's studio art haul.

In the midst of working on self-published book I have decided to learn calligraphy. With clear vision and motivation I picked up my grandfathers nibs and nib holder and started to learn. Early in the January I also received a gift from Tom's studio - modern calligraphy kit and lumos duo pen. So here is my experience up on till February.

Love the Lumos pen, it resolves a lot of problems that artists have with traditional fountain pens. Thank you for your demo, really interesting.

That Lumos pen from Tom's Studio has me very intrigued. My issue is the lack of waterproof fountain pen inks. The one I did find stopped up one of fountain pens. So I went to using Noodler's which isn't waterproof but if flows nicely. Anyway! You look to be making good progress on the calligraphy which is awesome! I think one of the keys to writing neatly is taking your time with the lettering. So, spending the time you are to write in calligraphy makes sense to me!

Toms Studio! Lovely video and very inspiring. I learned calligraphy/brushlettering three years ago.........and is was the hardest work I`v ever done. I think I practiced two years every day and wrote surely one million words, but I desperately wanted to master it. And then one day - it works. The subtle movements were saved in my muscle memory and today it's so easy and of course for me as driving my car. I was so proud of myself, that I had not given up and the success gave me so much self-confidence. I now knew, that I can learn literally everything, when I really really want it , to learn. Have fun on your further way!

Tom's Studio,sent you a beautiful gift of the two pens.You are making great progress teaching yourself copper plate calligraphy,which will really enhance your bird book,and your cards too.The lumous pen will great to illustrate with as well.I think the sense of achievement is more meaningful through teaching yourself a new creative skill,and it's motivating too.Calligraphy is a very meditative thing to do as well,and an sure you will evolve your own calligraphic style in time that will be uniquely yours,a great goal to work towards.(Matt) P.s so great that you can use all your beloved fountain pen inks in the lumous pen.I hope the Dorset tea tasted nice as well

I don’t think there’s anything wrong in taking your time and going slower. I could actually learn quite a lot from you. I often go to fast and regret that I didn’t slow down. I really like the results I get when I do slow down. There is an old saying, slow and steady wins the race.
