Every farm vehicle that goes out in the field should have it's own tool bag/kit with a standard assortment of basic tools you might need. That kit should live on it's own tractor/whatever. After you start with that any time you find you don't have something you wish was in the kit, you should add it to every tool kit in the fleet. Two of my mottos are 1)"Tools don't cost you money, they make you money" AND " Any tool you own is useless when you don't have it when you need it. Cheers

Hey could you do a morning to night feed management sort of video? Like how much to feed a milk cow, heifer etc, and what to feed, when to feed. Would be really helpful for some budding farmers. Thanks, great channel

I laughed when you mentioned the 'Dutch Tool Set'. I used to sell farm equipment to the Dutch farmers in Eastern Ontario and they told me a line that they loved to use... "Wooden shoes, wooden head, wouldn't listen". Personally, I thought it was a bit prejudice, but the line came from the Dutch farmers themselves. =) - Dave

Except it is illegal. Aviation regulations do not allow drones to be flown out of line of sight. Since it’s above the clouds it is no longer in sight and broke a major aviation safety regulation. Major fines and/or jail time could be considered.

What a number Jan! You must feel like a milk shake or what, as this baler makes you and your NH tractor to be shaking every single piece of straw (and several number of punches for each bale). Well key instruction on to work safely when there is a breakdown! Even best to switch the tractor motor off as you say, or eventually take off the PTO at the side of the tractor. So that the tractor motor can continu to get cooled? Nice to see the combine with the pickup header👌👍

Always great videos Jan. That bale picker upper brings back some painful memories of hand loading bales on a flatbed some 60 years ago! It was fun running machinery but I would imagine it is tough to fight boredom when driving over hundreds and hundreds of acres. Next you folks need self driving tractors then just sit in the air conditioned control room and count the money, lol

Gee Wiz. . .sure did seem like a lot of mishaps. I connected with your informing us about the small square bales. I'm pretty sure my uncle, back in the day, did nothing but square bales for his dairy farm. Your baler appeared like it might have been from that era. It's probably just plain worn out. Also, I enjoyed the cute Dutch notion about the wrenches. My family is from Western Michigan where there seems to be a fairly strong population of Dutch. The bale collecting machine was quite impressive. I really doubt my uncle had anything like that. . .just a lot of really hard work with sweat and tears. Thanks again Jan! I love each video.

Ahh ya those 2 crescent wrenches are the real Dutch tool only need two of em or if your a real cheap Friesen you got one of your own and the other one is the one that the mechanic left behind like my dad here in Texas he milked about 700 cows with a socket set and a “borrowed” crescent wrench that all the tools we had for as long as I can remember tho I finally convinced him to buy an impact (I know crazy convincing a friesen to spend money)

Jan, I see your PTO shafts are not totally covered in a protective plastic shaft, mainly the ends where the universal joints are. What is your health and safety like in agriculture over there? Here in the UK, a farmer or an employee using any equipment with a defective pto shaft would get taken to court and/or area a majorly large fine!
