Do yourself a favour and change out that old starter motor for one of the new generation ones. I did on my 2040 and the difference is amazing. You guys are so lucky over there as we can't tow anywhere near that capacity over here without going out and getting a full lorry license! Bob is indeed a wise man - hydraulic beavertails are the way to go. Keep up the great videos and it was great to see BJ again

Brian, a live beavertail is a great addition to the trailer. It makes loading so much easier. Generally the ramp is a quite a bit longer than manual ramps. I haul equipment, buy and sell some, it is so much safer.

Nice video, Brian. Hope we get to see the grain vac in action. BTW, we had two 4020's on our Iowa farm in the 60's-70's when I was a youngster. Both diesels. Dad bought them both new, one in '64 and one in '68. They didn't have cabs, which cabs weren't very good back then like they are today. One of my favorite memories is of Dad and me plowing together on my 13th birthday in 1971. We farmed about 1000 acres, which was a pretty big farming operation for those days.

Have to love a tractor without a working starter. Always parked said tractor strategically on a hill to use Sir Isaac Newton as the means to turn over the engine.

Brian, I have a request. Earlier this summer, you highlighted issues with variable rate fertilizer application and signs of nitrogen deficiency in corn. Could you possibly go and view the corn in question again to see if the nitrogen deficiency persisted? I had asked the question about the possibility of the plants eventually reaching residual nitrogen in the soil. I believe you reported your soil samples indicated sufficient nitrogen. In the name of good science and reliability of lab results, I think it would be worthwhile to explore. Thanks you from a chemist.
@RobertBrown-kc7wz2 жыл бұрын
didn't find much nitrogen deficiency, but did find some potash deficiency
@coreybrueckner40322 жыл бұрын
@@RobertBrown-kc7wz Thank you Bob. I cannot remember, but was the potash put down at a variable rate based upon soil sample prescriptions? Did you put down different forms of potash last spring? [KCl (potassium chloride) or K2SO4 (potassium sulfate)]
