She said the chorus is intended to recreate how it actually feels when you're breathing through a cloud of secon dhand smoke and the way the smoke entering your throat and lungs, hence the reason why it's uncomfortable to listen to. And in contrast, the rest of the song feels light and dream, because its supposed to be imitating the way smoke looks - like a giant white curtain as she said.

you should listen to 'my boy' which is an interesting song due to the fact that she creates an image of a person through things they do. also, 'I love you', which is a song that she had said she can't believe they wrote (its a beautiful song). if you want to see more of her personality you should watch 'a snippet into billie's mind' (there are two videos- one for 'bury a friend' and one for 'xanny'). another great interview would be the one year apart video by vanity fair which shows how much she changed in a year and was forced to grow up and mature faster in a way because of her being in the industry etc. she also has a short documentary by up next.

Also, copy cap was about a girl who did everything like her and it was just annoying. That is also why she wrote I don't wanna be you anymore... To show that people want to be like her but she doesn't even want to be herself. Yes, she was actually a competitive dancer and sustained several injuries and couldn't dance anymore. I like her music, her voice is beautiful and she is really original. Kinda feel that Finneas is not getting so much credit but looks like he is also a powerful force behind all this. And she is really unique and seems to have a great head on her shoulders so that's a really good thing. It was interesting to hear her speak about her thought process on writing Xanny. Someone else already spoke about the production. But the lyrics and inspiration in general came from an experience where she was around friends that were drunk & high. She hated that the substances took away their initiative and personality. They went from being the people she knew and loved, to these lazy blobs basically which I can def relate too. It does make you want to stay far, far away from the stuff. You never want that to be you.

she danced all of her childhood until she had a series of injuries and one big one that took her out of dancing at 12. she was in a very low place and her brother gave her the song ocean eyes to sing, her brother single handily picked her out of her pit and helped her find a purpose. Both so gifted, best friends.

Loving Part 2. Eager for Part 3. People often comment about Billie's (and Finneas') creativity and that she's only 17 (he's only 21). The even more stunning fact is for some of the things you just listened to and watched (Bellyache, Copycat, Hostage) Billie was 15 or 16 years old. She has a true and actual artistic sense about things and the sky's the limit.

I’m 23 catch me crying in the mosh pit to a 17 year old in just over a week. Her songs have hit hard in these last 2 months after a breakup and I blamed my mental health on why he didn’t want me anymore and I kept apologising and asking him why and how I can change but in reality I needed to get rid of him he was emotionally abusive and I was blinded by “love” I got the whole promise ring and all. I’ve been happier since we ended things and I know that it wasn’t my mental health. He said he couldn’t trust me around his phone after over a year of being together he said you haven’t gotten over your anxiety in the last year I have my things that time will take. No he just made me feel crazy while he tried getting onto other girls and now he wants to be the whole friends with benefits bullshit because all the females he was talking to didn’t actually like him so he wants back in but he annoys me now so I feel like I’m not In Love with him anymore I still stupidly have some love for him and hope he’s okay. She has been a saviour honestly and seeing you get as choked up as I do when listening to her music I was like damn I’m not the only one.
