Trying To Troubleshoot My Viking Sewing Machine

Have you tried changing the needle position back to center with the buttons under the display screen? This is done with the stitch width buttons.

I had a 1+. The needle bar is not moving when you start it up as you said. It needs to be taken in and adjusted. It’s not reading the cassette. You could try to find one that’s not cracked. This is an older machine. The dealer I took it to said it was from the 90’s and a slant needle style like the Singer 301’s. They have since found out that the slant needle doesn’t give you the piercing power. I got rid of mine because it couldn’t do the heavier materials. I have owned many machines. Bernina Artista 180, Pfaff 1229, Husqvarna Topaz 40 to name a few. Just tried a Janome 6700P. Wow am I pleased with it! It might be time to try something new. I have tried many of the major brands. Right now, my favs are the Juki 2010Q and the Janome 6700P. I hope you get it going, but really I think you would be pleased with the 6700P.

This machine was gifted to me years ago by one of my subs. I'm going to hang onto it. I've found a couple of shops locally. Hopefully one of them can repair it.

Needs a new motherboard. Not the cassette 400$ repair. Unless you can get a Chinese clone.
