I have tried to explain to my non-writer friends the absolute joy and excitement that comes from meeting a character you have had in your head for the first time and seeing how they take on a life of their own. To me, it's like meeting my baby for the first time. I had an idea of what she'd be like, but once she was here doing her own thing, she ended up being so much better than I imagined. So often I find characters take on a life of their own and it even surprises you, the writer and creator in the best possible way. I have so many characters that I get giddy to write.

OMG I was feeling you deeply when you wrote that character whom you've been waiting for for 3 books to write. Those are the best. Just the best, best, best!😍

It is so nice to see this side of an author! Seeing the steps you take writing a book. Your channel is new to me , however i will be purchasing one of your books today!

I'm rewatching this vlog to get myself motivated for my own 10K day. I'm using your mantra for this. Failure is not an option!

You go girl. I have no idea how you write 10,000 words in a day, but you're killing it!

I have a first time author, just like me who'll read through my book. I'm also gonna read hers and I'm so excited to finally read hers!

Congrats on your day! What a coincidence that you post this on the exact day that I also spent writing for most of the day. I only wrote 2k words, but that's a lot for me since I don't do it very often. 10k feels impossible lol, thanks for the motivation!
@Katesbookdate3 жыл бұрын
congrats on your 2k! that's still so much to write in one day!

I had a similar moment the other day introducing a character that will be a focus in the last book of my series. He was just supposed to pop in quickly but as I was typing he dropped a bomb that I thought was going to be a focus in his book. He was like Nah... I am going to be writing another scene with him in it tonight and I am so scared to see what he does.

Hey Katie! Once you've finished The Marionettes series, do you think you'll release a full box set purchase option? I loooove my special edition Harry Potter box set and I'd love to buy the full series like that for The Marionettes :)

I would love to be able to write 10 000 words on one day! The max I have done is like 2500 words =P

I'm here for that good Big Magic woo woo lol! Also, I love that feeling when we just click with a character, and they are so much fun to write. The characters I vibe with the most end up being my favorites, even though I try not to pick favorites lol I have a vlog question: Do you have any recommended resources for the business side of freelance editing?

Katie, I can't tell you how motivating these vlogs are for me! I'm sad I missed the Wednesday sprints but I'm gonna revisit the recording and pretend I was there lol! What kind of keyboard are you using around the 5 minute mark? I'm searching for a wireless keyboard for my Mac that's more comfortable for long writing days than the built in MacBook keyboard
@Katesbookdate3 жыл бұрын
lol I hope you enjoy the sprints replay or can join us for the next one! The keyboard actually has to plug into the usb in my laptop and is nothing fancy at all lol it's like ten years old and just something I grabbed from my dad

Congrats! The most I’ve ever written in one day was 6k words, but my goal is to write 10k in one day sometime in the future lol! Have you listened to RED (Taylor’s Version) yet? What do you think about the 10 min version of All Too Well?
@Katesbookdate3 жыл бұрын
6k is still so much in one day! Have I listened to it ahahahah it’s all I will be doing today. You know, screaming, crying, sliding down a wall 🧣
