This is a super old comment, but brings up a good conversation about what we define as "hand made". The factory produced clothes are still being made by hand... by the people (often women) who work there. There is no such thing as a shirt put together purely by a machine, it is being put together by women who are being undervalued through this type of rhetoric. The problem isn't head size, the problem is the mass of hair underneath. You need to do small braids to sit flat against the head instead of all bunched together in one big bun, as that volume of hair is taking up all the space in the wigs cap, making it too tight.

I wear wigs almost everyday. My medical condition means I can’t grow much hair without it falling out so I’m bald (Plus side no bald cap!)! It took me a very long time to come to terms with it as a highschooler. My regular wig that looks the most like with regular hair cost about $1200. I like to buy cheaper wigs however in fun colors on days when I want something more fun and change! I like your videos on wigs because I can find some diamonds in the rough!

The orange wig reminds me of when my mother did the hair and wigs for our local production of "Little Shop of Horrors". It was such a complex project that she needed help, which I excitedly volunteered. That, for sure, launched my interest in wigs moving forward. It was a while ago, but I want to say there were probably about 20 wigs, with maybe 15 of them requiring quick changes of a minute or less. I remember securing one actor's wig while she was singing and the curtain was actively rising. Anyway, because of the quick changes and the number of shows each week, the wigs needed to be bulletproof. My mother just passed one year ago after a gut-wrenching six year battle with dementia, so I love being reminded of these incredibly fun times I got to spend with her. Sorry for the lengthy post, but I just wanted to share how your video made me smile today.

The lace on lace front wigs is meant to be cut! It's made longer so you get to cut to your preferred lenght. Usually people pluck the hairline to give it the desired shape and make it look more sparse (looks more natural) and then cut the lace just around it or a few millimeters away. Then it can be put on and blended in using makeup around the hairline and on any parting. PS: You should make a video trying to follow a lace-front wig preparation and styling tutorial!

Also, just for context! Wigs from Etsy that are hand styled are so expensive because of the cost of materials and time it takes the create. I style Disney Princess wigs and it can take up to three or four days to style when you consider you have to wait for curls to set and all that kind of stuff! Most of the time I end up making less than $10 an hour on a wig

I feel like the problem is not your head size, is that you don’t flatten your hair. Try doing two (or 4 cause you have lots of hair) cornrow braids and pin the braids “in a zig zag” making sure your hair is as flat as posible, theeen the wig cap, then the wig. ♥️ I love your videos Mia!!

I do wigs for a theater company, and in the theater world pin curls are the standard, they make it so your head is the same shape all around, making the wig fit better. While cornrows are good for cosplay or ease, I would have to recommend pin curls if you want the full effect.

Also you gotta cut the lace off after you have it on so you can get a better feel of how you want your hairline/sideburns. You could also mark it while it's on then cut.
