This challenge is to test out your knife skills. It is a good way to practice during the off season and to work on fine motor skill and knife safety.

Thanks! I feel like I am a bit rusty after not doing much over the winter. This year has been busy and there has not been much time left over for the outdoors. I hope to change that this summer.

Thanks for taking a look! Part 3 will be coming out this weekend. There are still a bunch more notches left to do.

Hey Ken! Good to see how it's coming along. Seems, to me, that we all need to reacquaint ourselves when using different blade grinds and different knives. The convex looks to cut deeper but "slips" easier on horizontal cuts, due to the rounded bevel. Looking forward to the next one. Stay Strong, my friend.

Scandi definitely wants to bite deeper on cuts but the convex gives better control over the depth of cut, I went to shallow at the start of a couple cuts and ended up just stripping bark. The blade should have been held at a steeper angle. I'll try it again on a few more notches. I left everything in mess-ups and all instead of editing them out. It takes a little time to adjust when going back and forth between grinds. Overall I would take a convex, full flat, or saber over a scandi. They are better grinds than scandi for all of you other work.

Tonight I plan on catching up on the music videos that you posted over the weekend. We are down to the last 2 weeks until school ends so it is pretty busy here. I can't wait! This place turns into a ghost town for a while when s hool is out!

I work at a college and in the summer we transition to an adventure ministry. This is a spot on campus. It is nice to go out there for lunch and record a video. We are in the mountains and have some nice trails on campus.

Nicely done, Ken! 👍 Is the knife you’re using one of your own designs/makes? That is a nice blade, brother. Perfect size and profile-love that sweep from the plunge line to the point, and that slight drop/clip is a great design feature to enhance its capabilities. I’ll trade you one of my anemic Fallknivens for it. 😉😄

The blade is one of the ones that I made. It is a design that I have been wanting to try out just with a convex instead of the normal scandi grind. Curved edges cut better than straight and the little bit of a clip give it a nice point for reaching into tight spots. It worked great for the notches. I'll pass on the Falkniven! 😂🤣😅

@@LastChanceKnives, well, you sure know what makes a great knife. Going Scandivex was a great choice! 👍 I really like a Scandivex on A2 blades. All of my A2 blades with Scandi zero grinds have always been a bit chippy, but I’ve never had that problem with A2 with a Scandivex. One in particular was my Genesis in A2. I gave it a Scandivex and it made a world of difference.
