It’s so wild to me that you were treated poorly in Spain. I saw so many black people when I was in Barcelona. I myself am very pale but was raised in Belize. I have African roots and indigenous roots. I very much understand that I have certain privileges when I go to certain places. As for languages in California especially southern Cali we speak multiple languages period. I felt so bad for the guy in the video. He was just trying to get paid. I understand there’s a language barrier but if you treat people that way and wonder why you get treated differently 🤷♀️ I don’t know what to tell ya it’s called karma. I move with kindness in this world.

Maddie, I honestly agree with you. Why, because your personal feelings could cause us official harm. How, ok if you don't like dealing with them, let all of the people get their own places, and you will then see the being acceptable to others regardless of their language. Now, yes, we do have to communicate. If you don't like it, then send them to their own being.

No excuse for this behavior. No matter how you slice it! You are at work, be professional. Period. And as far as the language barrier, HIRE bilingual staff AND persons familiar with ASL, don't expect everyone to come in speaking English. You can even have specialized menus created in several languages. Or, invest in multi-lingual translating technology. There are several different solutions. Do the homework.

When I went to Colombia they wasn’t trying to learn English to help me they spoke their Spanish and that was it I had to use google translate or figure it out …. I feel like if we are going to accept ppl on this country they at least need to learn how to communicate in ENGLISH
@sosoraw5005Ай бұрын
I am so on the fence about this topic. A part of me says live and let live. And then apart of me says everyone living and working in this country should speak the national language. My bestfriend of over 25yrs is from Uruguay and her parents and husband don’t speak English but they own all types of property and businesses. I think because I see them as family, I don’t see nothing wrong with it. I’ve actually taught myself some “Spanglish” to be able to communicate with them. But when you go to other people’s countries they speak their language and you just have to adapt. It should be the same here…

So many other immigrants that have come to America had to conform to speaking English, why is the new attitude “I don’t have to if I don’t want to”. If Americans wanted to move to Germany or Tokyo or Iceland it’s common sense to learn some of the language before you even move. You can’t expect America to revert or conform to home. Even the real Natives speak English, if they had to conform so should anybody else

Spain says so. Puerto Ricans don't speak proper English. We do have an official language. English Black Americans do own this country we have history that says so. Brazilians don't speak Latin they speak Portuguese. I am open to learning English. I live in the Bronx. English is imperative to get along with us. In my environment they don't share their language. As Black people, we were forced to use English so that we could not communicate in our native language because they feared what we were communicating and wanted to control what we learned. However, when other people use their language when they're able to speak English, and still choose to speak their language In the presents of you, I find rude. You can speak English and you're in the presence of other people that speak English yo ass need to speak English. Don't be switching out to your language to say what you want to say then switch back to English. Do you know how hard it is To call any place of business and explain what services you need to someone and their Is broken English.
