For a simulation this is very good. Liked the sound of the diesel engine which brought back memories of travelling to Cannon Street back in the '70's. Thanks for the post.

looks a great simulation. shame that some of the signals are in the wrong places tho! , for instance there is a distant & home signal protecting the Robertsbridge crossing, the home being placed before the crossing & station, the speed limit going into hastings tunnel has always been 45mph aswell, its a wider tunnel and about half the length of bo peep tunnel ( between warrior sq & west st leonards). Good simulation but theres a few bits wrong

I remember hearing that starter signal clatter as a child in the 70s. Then hearing the thumpers notching up.

liking this alot , except the stations are not painted NSE red , i don't recall any stations having Blue benches in 1988

Is it normal practice to set the master controller to off when stopping at intermediate stations and signals?

I'm not a fan of computer simulation, but this is rather good, although there are a few quirks, like the train in the stabling point at Tonbridge being full of passengers and unless its been completely rebuilt since I was last there, the road bridge crossing all the tracks just as the train enters Tonbridge station is completely wrong. Also local stoppers like this more often than not went into Platform 1, platform 2 being used for London bound trains. Good effort though

sidney001 it was just a quickdrive was included in the route. I got the route from 'backdated trainsim routes'. I didn't build it. I was just taking a look at the quality as I have been following its build for months. it's set in 1988 not present time.

sidney001, hi, I'm the route builder. You're absolutely right, the bridge is completely wrong although because I am not a modeller, and for the bridge to be completely right requires a custom model to be made, which I do not have the skills to produce. Hence I have to make do with what I have and create something that works as best it can. With regards to the trains being full of passengers, that's unfortunately a "fault" of the game itself. We don't have the ability to add/remove passengers in-game. Glad you appreciate it nonetheless.

It's a good effort for sure and I am being pedantic because I used to travel over that line regularly from 1978-2004 I even watched most of the the entire journey, and look forward to seeing something like this in a few years time when the graphics have improved even more,

@@wgcameraman4650 you also missed a 6th portal in the brodge to the north of the tracks. Its only used for pedestrians.

It's a fantastic route done by backdated trainsim only draw back is not the proper diesel units are used the class 205 never went to hastings only from Ashford via rye.. the class 201which unfortunatley nobody has made available yet for use in train simulator would be a great asset to this route, plus more AI trains and scenarios would be nice. There's only so much quick driving mode you can do before getting bored with it as it's set in 1988 alot of what you see isn't around anymore. Living within the area much as changed on this route some good some not so...It's a shame the route only goes as far as Tonbridge........... Never the less a great reconstruction of the route is well worth checking out..........................

Excellent cab detail & sound. A shame that there is no faint traction motor sound evident in the cab since they do go through more vocal periods as they speed up (resonances) that may be occasionally heard in the cab, especially on part load. Being on the back bogie for better weight distribution perhaps their sound is not usually heard in the cab although often clealy heard in the passenger accomodation.

Only inaccuracy I spotted is that high brooms is a 12 car platform. And here is the proof, you can see the newly extended high brooms platforms in 1986 at 1.53 kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3_LqXmcYtd6Z8U

The representation of Hastings is not as convincing as it could be. There are buildings where there are none and the representation of Cornwallis Bridge lacks the balustrade. This is obviously because standard RailSim objects have had to be used. Apart from that, it is a very good simulation. With more more work, one could quite easily be fooled into believing it was real!
