The problem is that everyone is doing exactly what tsa does: buy it, name it, sell it. This leads to a single species of coral having multiple names and multiple prices.

Exactly!!! Such a shame & the prices are stupid crazy!!! the good thing is as many people buys it and frags it the prices will eventually come down but it takes time 😩

Just give it a silly cartoon name and charge 1000% more

That's why I don't really even buy that much Coral from stores anymore. They are way too expensive and usually buying from a hobbyist is better. You can bargain and pretty much guarantee the stuff is good since they have been growing it in a tank themselves rather than a store that just got a shipment of corals taken from the wild
@andrewlindell86266 ай бұрын
I just bought like $500 of stuff from a guy that broke his tank down and I probably would have paid easily a thousand or more from a store

Very cool video, I love highend SPS and you guys have some of the best! I just wish you didn’t limit the top 10 to just what’s available now. Would have been cool to see some of your colonies in growout, like rru angry birds, etc.

Will for sure keep that in my mind for future SPS content! Thanks for checking out the video and dropping a comment! -Blaine

I'm thinking about stocking a 200 gallon peninsula with only a handful of high flow / high light SPS corals so they can get HUGE. I'm spoiled for choice, I want to keep it to single digits of SPS species.

Love this concept! Once they grow in over some time having a select few colonies in a system would look spectacular! Thanks for checking out the video! -Blaine

I’d say the Bubbleyum! Both are unbelievable pieces though, ones I’d love to have in my reef down the line! -Blaine

I do love TSA Fruity Pebbles. I have it at the bottom of a 130 gallon under XR30 blue and the color is great but has grown slow. Might be the small frag that I started with.

I got a TSA fruity pebbles from another coral vendor and it seems to have a pest bright orange amphipod living on it and some STN. Any advice wouldn’t its identification and treatment. I haven’t dipped it yet, I was thinking a two minute bath in iodine or hydrogen peroxide mixed with seawater?

Maybe it’s included in a previous episode, but what are the lights that you’re using in your tanks ?
@TopShelfAquatics8 ай бұрын
We used a wide rang of lighting for all kinds of applications, but the main light source in the farm are the Radions by Ecotech! We will for sure be diving deeper into this subject soon. -Blaine

No offense but id rather just buy coral from tank breakdowns. Wayyyyy cheaper, its been living in someones tank for awhile so you know it can survive in captivity. Also probably free of pests since it has been growing so its got s higher chance of survival. No need to get ripped off paying for some acro that has some catchy name that might change colors on you or die
@TopShelfAquatics7 ай бұрын
I think you're misunderstanding that all of these in our list are aquacultured in house, and are some of the strongest strains of stony corals out there. Top Shelf is actually one of the driving forces behind brining in corals and ensuring we have species and strains that have been in the hobby for extended periods. Appreciate your comment, but it is off if you are referring to us here and what we provide the hobby! Feel free to come down sometime I will personally walk you through the farm and show ya! -Blaine

@@TopShelfAquatics oh I know you guys have really good stuff but are also super expensive. There are literally small frags selling for hundreds of dollars and up into the thousands range on your site. Unless you got polo reef money no one can really afford them.

@zachary_smith1 not poor lol I've got 15k plus Into my tank. You don't have to be poor to not overpay for things. I get it they have a business and need to make a profit and have a lot of overhead. I'm staying a fact.... You can get nice corals for cheap from basement vendors
