They were such loving parents to their kids. The Tsarena was so protective of their kids that age sewed jewels to the girls' dresses to protect them. *Fun fact: Tsar Nicholas & Tsarena were 2nd cousins as his grandmother & her grandfather were siblings & their Dads are 1st cousins...

They truly were good parents. If only that was spoken of more… and you’re right, the inbreeding went on even that close to our time!

My favourite dynasty. Both devout Christians and their love for one another lasted all their lives. A great example to all.

Great video - but I have to say, the more I read about Nicholas & Alexandra, the less I like them. In fact, I have come to definitely dislike them. I realize that most people share the prejudices of the time they live in - but even then, wow. Just one example among many is their antisemitism - and these were people who could put what they thought into practice, negatively impacting the lives of millions. Vicious, vicious antisemites, both of them. Unbelievably racist - especially about Asians. I'm not going around expecting people in the past to magically not have views commonly held at the time, either - racism and antisemitism, etc. were pretty common and widespread. But even then, theirs amounted to almost a frenzy of hatred. Bizarre. Plus, the pair of them were just blinded by arrogance and ideology. Sad for the Russian people - will they ever have decent leadership?

Thank you! And I agree with you on all those points. Nicholas and Alexandra weren't the most wonderful people, but we also can't expect them to have "modern" views either. I do believe that they were doing the best they could, but they weren't exactly successful rulers.

When you think about the fact that they were killed by a bunch of Jews, their hatred doesn’t seem as ridiculous. Get out of your politically correct zone and try to see the world as it is.

@@TheRoyalWomen But their views were far antiquated even for the times in which they lived. Deep anti-Semitism met with opposition from all over Europe, many countries expressed concern about their attitude. During their rule, more than a million Jews left Russia due to persecution, and at least several thousand died in pogroms. These were definitely not the standards of the time. Elżbieta, Alexandra's sister, wrote to her in one of her letters, "What you are doing to the Jews is terrible. God will punish you for it someday."

Stop believing Soviet propaganda. It was designed to make you hate them. If you actually understand that Czar Alexander I freed Russia from the Free Mas*ns and the Roths*hilds, then the slander of Nicholas and Alexandra makes sense.
