I watched almost all of your videos sir on every tough looking concept and now all they are very much easy for me... I'm on my last phase of prepration.. solving questions from your videos and just realised that the all the efforts you made aren't just extraordinary.. they are actually money, time & life saving for all of us. They are out of the world both the concepts and the efforts you made for us. Realised and just paused this video to thanking you. Thankyou so much sir ❤️. Now need your blessings for the final day 😄🙏🏻.

I came across a similar question with a very minor tweak as question 15:38 and I realized that the solution told by you sir is a bit incorrect. I found this explanation : A’s speed is more than B. Together they cover 70 km in an hour. So, they take 20 hours to cover the entire stretch of 1400 km. That is, A covers 1000 km and B covers 400 km when they meet for the first time. When A completes 5 rounds he will be at Q. During the same time B completes 2 rounds and he will be at Q. That is to say, both are at Q. On the sixth round A does not meet B and only on the 7th round A meets B for the sixth time! Therefore, after 10 rounds A meets B only 9 times. After 10 rounds A will be at P and B will be at Q. By the same logic, after 20 rounds they meet 18 times and A will be at P and B will be at Q. Now, they are in opposite direction. After 23 rounds, A will be at Q and he has met B for 21 times. During the last 3 rounds of A, B must have covered a distance of 84*20 = 1680 km. That is to say, B is 280 km from P and going towards Q. A is going towards P from Q. The distance between A and B is 1120 km. They take 16 hours to meet for the 22nd time. A covers 800 km from Q. Hence, A is 800 km from Q or 600 km from P.

@@mansimainali6145 A's speed is more than B. This can be simply deduced from the fact that A travels 60m in the same time when B travels 40m.(Speed is proportional to distance travelled when time is constant) It's given that they meet for the first time at 40m from Q, this means to meet for the first time A travelled 60m from P and B travelled 40m from Q. For linear tracks questions what if speed of one of the objects is quite slow such that 2nd meeting or any subsequent meeting happens while both are moving in the same direction? In such cases the combined distance between two meetings wont be 2d but 2*(M1-M2). The general rule wont be valid then ?

The answer is wrong because it has assumption that at second meeting A will complete 1400 metre round(24:36). But if you will analyse closely you will observe that at second meeting A will be at 1200 from P which is it's first round.

Watch at 19:34 where sir is claiming that to meet them for 2nd time A will reach the reach end point and come back again. But when you will apply formula 2x1400x(2/7)=800 means A will cover next 800 after there first meeting. In total it is 1200 which is before the end point of A. So both will meet even before A will reach end point.

Sir is a great teacher, but this concept seems to be wrong. This 2d concept is only applicable when ratio of faster: slower is less or equal to 2:1. In the eg even, B would meet A second time even before A reaches point Q, so how can the distance be '2d' between two successive meeting points?
@debasishmandal9677
@debasishmandal9677 6 ай бұрын
@Rodha, Sir what about like if after M1, if the speed ratios are such like one overtakes other in the same direction rather than crossing each other in opposite direction? Then I guess the concept of '2d' won't work.

bro.... A is starting from p... therefore to reach q he travels 1400m, then comes back to p i.e, 2800m. his 2d is 2800m nd ends at p. similarly multiple of 2d will make A end at p. therefre at 1400*12 ,he ll end up at p.. (multiple of 2d or even ..he goes nd comes back..2times).. then remaing mtr from 17200 m is 400 which he will travel from P.

With all due respect, the solution to last question isn't correct, whenever speed of two individuals is greater than 1:2 or approaching 1:2, we can't apply the distance ratio directly A is faster so A in his own round will always meet the slower one.. Except the round which takes place just after when they are at the same end.. Now when A takes 5 rounds, B takes 2 rounds.. Now they will be same end.. They must have met 5 times.. Now they will be together when faster takes 10 rounds.. Slower will take 4 rounds... They will meet 9 times.. Similarly again A again takes 10 rounds.. B takes 4 rounds.. So Now when A has taken 25 rounds.. they must have met 23 times.. and they are at same end.. now backtrack because we want previous meeting. . They will be at point Q now A must have travelled 2000 just before 23rd meeting.. So 800 from Q..

Are we only considering face to face meet in this concept...not the one in which one overtakes the other?
@purubaranwal8149
@purubaranwal8149 4 жыл бұрын
Extremely crucial question. Unfortunately sir hasn't mentioned it. The whole calculation is based the condition of face to face meeting. To fulfill the condition of covering 2D distance we will not count instances when one overtake other. This difference becomes important when one has relatively very low speed and the path is very large. Because in this scenario the faster one will overtake slower one multiple times even before the completion of first round for slower one.

I had some doubts and spent quite some while figuring them out. The meetings points are only for crossover meetings, and not same directional overtakes. Valid meeting points are: A B | --------------------------------------------|M1|--------------------------------------| a==> & & b==> |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|M2| A pseudo mathematical proof of why the formulae work: Assume the xth meeting point looks something like this. A B |-----------------------------x units------->|| | --------------------------------------------|M(x)|--------------------------------------| a==> & || | ---------------------------------------|M(x+1)|-----------------------------------------|M(x)|--------------------------------------| ||| a==> & & B ==> M(x) ==> M(x+1) moving leftwards. Distance travelled by A = (d-x) + (d-x) + (x-y) = 2d-x-y Total distance travelled by A and B = 2d. For sub-case P: This is a bit bizzare and we will encounter an overtake in this case. b goes from M(x) to M(x+1) and is moving leftwards at the time of meeting. Distance = x-y. a goes -- M(x) ==> B ==>M(x)==> Overtakes 'b' in between M(x) and M(x+1) ===> M(x+1) ===> A ===> M(x+1) [Meeting point] and is moving rightwards. Distance = d-x + d-x + x-y + y + y = 2d-x+y Total distance travelled by A and B = 2d. The speed of b is pretty low compared to a. (Sa : Sb = 10:1 types). Also, a overtaking b is not a valid meeting point since both are moving in the same direction (leftwards in this case) . Case 2: Assume meeting point M(x+1) is at the any of the corner (here it is corner B). a and b both moving rightwards and meeting at the corner (even though they are moving in the same direction, this is a valid meeting point). A B |-----------------------------x units------->|| | --------------------------------------------|M(x)|--------------------------------------|M(x+1)|
