When our dad passed away, my mom was still young but she had all of us. Myself and my siblings there was 12 of us still. I'm the oldest but the rest were still young. My mother refused to be married to my dad's younger brother and being his second wife. My mom choosed us and she didn't remarried and stayed and raised my siblings up. I helped her. She remained a widow until she passed away 8 years ago. All my siblings are grown. The boy's are all married, us girls we're all with our partner except me lol. I've been divorced for 20 us years. I'm happy being single and living my life.

Nobody wants to be old and lonely. I would just move on with my life and hope that one day in the next life you will meet up again only, as this lifetime is already over for both of you. You're putting yourself in miserable life waiting for something that'll never happen! Yes you can still get remarried and love your kids/grandchildren too. You'll never get over the greiving of your late husband but that shouldn't stop you from finding happiness again.

My mom did that. She was 38 when my father died. She was offered a few marriages after, but refused them. She brought us from Laos to Thailand to America. Today, she is 74. She raised all her 8 children and lots of grandchildren. We hope we love her enough to return her love in this lifetime!

It's sad when you lose the love of your life. As for the hardships you and your husband went through in the early years, I think you need to own up to part of it. Knowing your then boyfriend had no support from his dad or step-mom, you and he should have postponed getting married and finished college first (you) and worked a few years (boyfriend) to be more financially independent. When you are financially independent, you don't have to rely on those who hate you to help you. Hmong people, in general, are not known to be generous with their love for another man's children, so if you love your children, it might be best for you to wait for your children to grow up before marrying again.

Hmong people we gotta change. If step mom doesn't love you and pop can't be a man then u gotta man up yourself. Don't let these old fools mistreat you or tryna teach you to respected them just because they are the parents. Speak up and teach them from right and wrong because in the end the one that that will endure the struggle and pain is you yourself. Never let someone speak for you. We hmong really gotta change. Shii...I argue with my parents all the time when they're wrong. You gotta keep it real with these og because they way they speak to you is the words from another elderly who they look up to which isn't a good or smart person. Teach them and show em the way. Today my opinions matters to my parents and my words has meanings.
