This teachings of Guru Devotion is the MUST practice in Gelugpa, Lineage of Tsem Tulku Rinpoche... Wow... this is very mind blowing... a real challenge for modern day students who are very much attach to self-pride... tough, tough!

I find that if I patiently sit through these long Dharma talks, I always find a gem. Something you said pushed me to do 108 Vajrasattva mantras immediately. The effect of Dharma is tremendous, it's unspeakable... Thank you is an understatement.

Awesome teachings Rinpoche, what you mention is correct, students always want to choose a big shot teacher, but have we wonder that we should take responsibility? The more devoted we are to our practice is how we devote ourselves to the Guru Devotion. Having a direct teacher is something very precious to us, we should hold Rinpoches advice dear and never forsake it.

Exactly! Well said Dungkar80... the outer Guru is very important to push us to seek our inner Guru as we normally don't really see our our weaknesses...

I had once heared that exposure to such things as holy images or words of the Buddha or to hear words of the beloved Dharma may implant in them seeds for their future liberation, like liberation through seeing or hearing and it bacame an honour to pass into his hands such a small size peice of a huge puzzel to his own perception of things. Rinpoche's having made available mp3's of his beloved Dharma's teachings for us to share is such a kind thing to do, and having him hear these precious words

Hi redseb, your right, these do help people with the problems they have in life. I have a friend who has been self harming themself's and thinking of the world with a frightning way, until he heard beloved Rinpoche, i wouldn't know how to start thanking His Eminence for the help and hope he has given just him alone, and the countless others... May you live long dear Rinpoche

GURU = BUDDHA, we serve, make offerings to our GURU is equal to make offerings to a Buddha. GURU gives us knowledge, give us Dharma, give us all the teachings tht has been pass down by Buddha.....How fortunate we are here to serve our GURU.

that is really important these days because many people like to go for initiations and empowerments yet do not practice Guru Devotion at all...and treat their teachers like someone whom they do not know. There are also lots of misconceptions that to practice Guru Devotion, one must be a slave to the Lama. This is not so. All of those acts are to train the mind.

If we are imperfect and our mind is full of junk thoughts and selfish intentions , then we will only see faults in a Guru for a Guru functins as a mirror to reflect our mind.

H.H. Dalai Lama had said tht one can take up to 12 years to examine a guru before formally take him/her as one's Guru. As per Verse 7 of "Guru-Pancasika" by Asvaghosa: "A disciple with sense should not accept as his Guru someone who lacks compassion or who is angersome, vicious or arrogant, possesive, undisciplined or boasts of his knowledge." Err... even Puah Chu Kang said use your brain la.. So, why blame the Guru? it's your own choice!
