@bigmaxy079 жыл бұрын
Steve Jackson I have big doubts whether that solo was live. I have heard things about him having another guitarist backstage who actually plays those solos. Half the front row has their hands all over the neck and he still puts down a perfect solo.
@tsfmnlb9 жыл бұрын
bigmaxy07 Well you're wrong. There are extra guitar players on stage with FM to play rhythm and acoustic guitar, and because there are almost always multiple parts in their songs. Back in the day, when only the 5 FM mebers were on stage for live shows, Lindsey's guitar tech at the time, played the acoustic part for GYOW, from backstage. It wasn't to hide him, as clearly Lindsey wasn't playing acoustic and lead at the same time ;) As far as him playing his solo while fans are playing, you can clearly hear it get real messy, and then drop out completely, once he starts letting the fans play. All you hear at that point, is the rhythm and acoustics, played by the guitar players on stage, back behind John. He plays his solos. He plays all the lead.

bigmaxy07 There is a contingent of Fleetwood Mac fans that think that the band went downhill after Peter Green left and can't imagine how Lindsay Buckingham (or anyone else) would ever be good enough to replace him, so they slander Lindsay at every turn. Lindsay Buckingham is probably the most underrated guitar player in the history of Rock and Roll. I love Peter Green, but that doesn't mean that I can't love Lindsay Buckingham too. Lindsay's had far, far more hits than Peter Green ever had, with or without Fleetwood Mac, and Lindsay even does a creditable job of covering the old Peter Green material.

Peter Green is a bluesman guitarman with a god gift talent on his drunk voice and incredble hands technice, and Buckingham has a big charisma on the stage and he made beatiful composition. You can love both for different reasons.

jfelect4 Edwardo I will assume you had a brain 13 years ago. So, what happened? Your comment is rambling and off topic. And, we all were young once and with our youth we carried our best physical attributes. You are not getting any younger or better looking. You are running out of time which has been wasted thinking about the past. The past is behind you. What lies in front of you is the future.
@johnnydtractive7 жыл бұрын
craig gomez, not everyone thinks like you. People are attracted to more than just physical attributes & youth. In fact I would argue that as we get older, we focus more on internal qualities like compassion, intelligence, a good moral compass, sense of humour etc.

Amen to the 1,000th degree. This is one of the most amazing, rockingest performances of probably the best guitar song in history. Lindsay is a musical genius in the top 5. Forget all this wannabe cool Peter Green nonsense. I'm not taking away from him, but Fleetwood Mac with Stevie and most especially Lindsay is when they became one of the top 5 rock bands ever.
@Bwahahahaha110 жыл бұрын
Born to be rock stars! Peter Green? Yeah, I see them lasting all the way up til 2014 and beyond with that old lineup. That was fine for the 60s. You gotta "get" Lindsey to understand why he plays the guitar the way he does. He's a madman, playing straight from his soul. It's his expression. It's beautiful! This performance and every other performance.

@SuperDrJeckyl12 жыл бұрын
I agree, it's such a super song I can listen to it over and over. What's funny, the song was created out of a sad situation. He wrote this song as a major getback at Stevie who left him. Of course, I'd be major upset at having such a very hot at the time honey like Stevie fool around on me, too. Ironically, the song has such great music you can't help but find joy out of it with Lindsey's genius guitar playing, especially the solo.

A lot of artists today do, for sure. Lindsey's old school though, and he definitely doesn't lip sync ;) Does he (and the rest of FM) do post production for a concert filmed for DVD? Of course. But this is basically as it was sung. Not like it was excessively overdubbed or tuned up. It's pretty straight IMO.
