Yes indeed Digitrax and NCE are big names in the world of DCC . I do use some Digitrax products myself ( PR4, DS64, DT 500D ) However , the European brands ( Marklin , ESU, Roco, Lenz , Piko ) do have a strong following in the USA as well as around the globe . Keep up the good work .

Good video. It may be worth a quick mention, even if not going into detail. That the locobuffer does have drivers that need to be installed to make the comm port work. All the instructions are included with the locobuffer when purchased.

Great stuff guys! Might have to do an update now that Digitrax has introduced the DCS52 with a USB port already installed on the controller. I just got mine so I haven't tried it out yet. I'm still trying to figure out JMRI so at least this video should be helpful to me, I think. I am kind of slow at new technology and all. Thanks for the info! Cheers, Dan

I have sent Digitrax an inquiry to see if they would like to have their new Zephyr on the channel. It's up to them at this point.

Truly informative and well organized series of videos but is there any chance of filming an episode about JMRI and other command stations such as the Uhlenbrock Intellibox 2 ( Loconet ) as well as the Lenz LZV 100 ( XpressNet ) . In combination with the latest interface from Digitrax ( PR 4 )
@tsgmultimedia6 жыл бұрын
I've been focused on the "big" brands. NCE and Digitrax are what most viewers will have experience with, I think...

@earlwidmeyer26545 жыл бұрын
John. So you do not need to use a Digitrax PR3 or PR4 for the interface just any type of interface? The RR circuits loco buffer is it available in Canada and who is the maker? Is JMRI free to download and it also comes with decoder pro?

Sorry Earl, I don't understand your questions. Please watch again and try searching on your favorite search engine for the answers. I'd try but I really don't understand what you're saying. Start here: www.jmri.org

Where do you get the locobuff
@rogerhuber31333 жыл бұрын
I'm so confused about all the DCC stuff. Is the Digitrax PR-4 the same as the loco buffer you use? Everyone talks about JMRI and setting up a decoder but nobody actually gets to the point of changing/reading CVs. I'm not sure if I need JMRI and all this stuff so would like to see how to change things. I don't have a smart phone and have no interest in anything except setting up my sound decoders.

Can you guys do a video on historical resources and doing research? I'm having trouble finding references on what kinds of trains ran where during which decades. I've tried google, but I'm coming up more confused than anything.

Hi Larry this is great and exactly what the series has been intended for. I'd highly recommend going to www.jmri.org and searching the discussion forums for the answer to your question. Let us know what you find, because chances are, you're not the only one who has encountered the issue you have.

Hi Guys. This is what I have been looking for to change cv's interactively, however I do not have a DCS51, but do have a Mac, PR3Xtra, DB150 and DT402 that I hookup as instructed by jmri website, but for some reason nothing happens when I try to change cv's on the fly. Can you do a vid showing my type of hardware connections so I can do as this video does for cv changes. Thx in advance

Hi Allan, check this video to see how I adjusted CVs on the fly using JMRI and a Sprog: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5C7d4iVjtqBgLM

Thank you for the video but I need help I pulled out all my stuff and now I want to get going on my HO layout. Can you provide a bill of materials of what was used in this video. Software links and hardware links. I like the system. I have a computer and I have the DCC engines but all the rest I need some directions. Can you provide wire diagrams so I know how the wire setup is done? Sorry for being so demanding, just eager to get going.
