if the hospital I worked in had such narrow hallways I think I'd crash my stretchers every day

The camera just makes it appear that way.

That was my first job out of high school, I enjoyed it because I got to see what different people do in the hospital. I am super glad we didn't have to deal with hospital dirty laundry though, yuck! The transporters in this hospital work their behinds off, wow! The only extra work we did was delivering meds to the floors in the AM from the pharmacy. Anyway it's a good starter job for someone who doesn't quite know what they want to do professionally yet. This hospital needs updating desperately!

You didn't need a huge medical degree or previous background though?
@DrummerGrrrl4 жыл бұрын
@@detech8149 No, not at all. A kid right out of high school can do it.

@@DrummerGrrrl I have an interview later today. I’ve been applying to this position since I was 18 (25 years old now). Hopefully I get it. (Update) I did not get the job for this position, however the day I got the rejection email, I got an email from the hospital I’ve originally been applying for 5 years. I got hired there!

Sorry if this is a late question, but is this a decent career for someone single in their 40’s? If it’s a stable full time at least $30k a year, I can survive on that.

I like to work in your hospital as a patient transporter im here in phillipines. how to apply ?
@bettysmith45275 жыл бұрын
Jean, you may not have transporters in your country. This is from the USA, but you could call your local hospital and ask.
@DrummerGrrrl4 жыл бұрын
The job could be called something other than "transporter".

If the patient can’t travel by wheelchair, why not just take the bed?

Lol good old teletracking. We switched to epic last year... We all have personal iPods that give us our patient info....Teletracking is smarter then epic.... Epic never routes me to the closest patient...Your facility must be small cause I move 40 patients a day easily...
@femalesneakercollector72016 жыл бұрын
Medic Jay mine too, easily. For everything else they did, at my hospital theirs a person to do that, like the linen,mail, code carts.

. Do Transporters transport dead bodies ?
@detech81494 жыл бұрын
good question never thought of that.
@DrummerGrrrl4 жыл бұрын
I never did. However, I did have to take a maggot-filled amputated lower leg to some lab downstairs from the o.r. It was so nasty! It stank even though it was wrapped tightly in three heavy plastic biowaste bags. At lunch time, too!
