Wes...great comments. you never hear people folks talk about FSI, it is always TSI. I agree it should be a good combination of both. Bob

Why you telling everyone about my Farm, Wes? We need ALL the "SI's" but you have to come back and tell me the blocks! Thats where my brain gets vapor locked! Another great video Bud! Thanks for all the great info!

So after I cut down trees in the middle of my woods for a bedding area, should i blow the leaves off of the forest floor? Doesn’t seem like the undergrowth is growing very fast in the area I cut…just some fern

That’s what I get frens ,vines. Twigs stuff to trip over. I think a fire would help. But that involves more help and money

I’ve never had to do anything, as long as you let enough sunlight on the ground it explodes with growth. Did you do a clear cut where the ground can get several hours of sun? Or did you a do a thinning cut? Depending on your growing season it will vary how long the process takes. Thanks for watching.

@@adkbowhunter5140 here in north Fl. Most woods turn to jungle. Palmetto brush, vines, ferns . It’s a constant effort to control the tangle.

The best way is to select cut, or hinge cut, TSI and FSI are compatible with food ploting if select cutting is used. Hinge cutting the maples and other high White Tail usage trees increase Browes.

Yes sir, I agree. The thing I don’t like about hinge cutting is the maintenance required, I really don’t want to go in there every 3 years and hinge all my old hinge cuts. Thanks for watching

How big are your clear cuts?
@DIYfoodplotpro22 күн бұрын
Around 3/4 of an acre….but depends on what I’m trying to accomplish. Some are larger and some are smaller. A lot of that will depend on deer density, as one of the main reasons for doing the clear cuts is woody browse.
