One thing that irritated me about this story: The step dad not allowing the son to date a girl with Bachelor degree. Imagine if your own kids was looked down on bc they only have a "Bachelor" degree, still not good enough. Sheesh.

I get it that he had disowned his child. As a parent, we shouldn't stop our kids from making a choice: " Either you choose me or your mom/dad." Being the child in between the situation is hard because of madness involved. Yes, ik there will be jealousy, between the parents' other spouse of who raised the child n whatsoever. Just let the kid decide and on what they wanna do. If i put myself in the father's situation, I would want to die knowing that i spent my last breath with my disowned child b4 dying. The least thing a father can do when dying.

I totally agree with you. It is closure for the son as well as for the father. Everyone at one point makes mistakes. She wants her son to carry her hate towards his father. I would say she is wrong in this. She is the one that makes her son stress over time and will continue to think about it. Shameful and selfish.

Yog kawg! They just haven’t accept the love yet… when they do… they will know how to give love back. Sounds so much like my story. My daughters grew up not having a father too. I try as much to be both parent. It is depressing… shed so many tears.. the struggles and striving just to provide and support 2 girls. It was hard but now they both are grown adult and married. I waited and I didn’t really look for another marriage. I give all my love to both my daughter’s. Rather for a man. Cos you’ll never know where the 2nd marriage life may take u. For bad or for worst.

I understand the moms pains and suffering. I understand she holds a grudge against her son’s father, but I would never ever use that against my child. My love for my child is unconditional therefore, I’d let my child do what makes him happy. The son has suffered enough. He never received a fathers love so if he wants to be a good son to a father who never loved him, he has that right!

Lol your husband have no right to judge your son's gf just bc she only got her BA. He never love your son. He only accept your son now because he turn out to be a doc.
