It's because it's much easier and more consistent for a good controller player to beam an equally skilled mnk player close range. In a straight 1v1 with full-auto weapons close range and equal health, the controller player will win 100% of the time if players are of similar skill. Mnk has way more advantages though all-around but quickly winning close range fights is arguably the most important thing in the game that dictates your success. Aim assist micro-adjusts at a reaction time faster than humanly possible which makes close range tracking much easier than it should and is frustrating to play against when no amount of practice on mnk will ever give you parity against it.
