As a person who played both games to challenger (Support) and Immortal 200 (P4) I can say DotA 2 is definitely more complex. The only question is what you like. In league you know who won after 10 minutes with 90% accuracy. In DotA the items, hero’s and mechanics over all are more complex’s. Items like E-Blalde, Refresher, etc would break League. Hero’s like PL, Earth-shaker, Pugna would break league. League is the easy to sell beer everyone can enjoy. DotA is the fine wine where you can appreciate the complexity of it. Both games are good for different kinds of players.

It's not really harder but just more complex. It's like Call of Duty and Battlefield -> One is smaller, balanced, competative and fast paste while the other is more chaotic, bigger/longer, cheesy and more fun

people always cal dota harder, that isnt inherently true. complexity isnt difficulty, that is something people so often misunderstand. part of the difficulty with dota is just the osbscene number of niche mechanics and weird things you need to memorise. dota has so many more niche mechanics. it has hard counters, the wierd flying horse thing, lane shop and creep blocking/counter csing. it isnt fair to call league easier.

@@789blablajaja7 basically dota is more harder. 1st: macro moves, you will spend a lot more time crossing map in LoL and Dota, while you can easily move from Top to Mid like for 6-7 seconds in LoL, and in dota its about 9-10 seconds, for that time your teammate can be easily killed. 2nd. More items, like there is way more items in dota then LoL, and much more effects, 1 or 2 items on your support (5 or 4 pos) can turn the battle into opponent's or yours side. 3rd. There is no heroes that can ANNIHILATE you in seconds, so you have to be carefully, 1 wrong skill and opponent's already ran away, or his teammates will save him (of course there is nukes, but characters using it, will be probably banned). 4rd. Meta... In LoL in basically changes every 4-5 patches, while in dota its always changes. 5th. Heroes/Characters system, let me show you - LoL: here, have few characters, you will understand them after 2-3 matches) If you want more, you need to buy them, just play few matches more) Dota: here is list of infinity info, you will basically understand it after 50-60 hours of game play, but i dont care... Also it may change after this month... Maybe... 6th. Team play, let me show again. LoL players (basically in discord knowing each other): yo, faster stun them! Where are you?! Increased travel time is a decision making factor, neither easier or more difficult. Champs who oneshot you dont make the game easier or more difficult either, you have to adapt to that circumstance in both cases. Meta changes are arguably increasing complexity THE LONGER the meta stays the same. Because you need to study the meta to keep up. Think chess for example. More items and effects means more complexity, not more difficult. Its still a PvP game. No unsolved PvP game is ever easier than any other.

It's not really comparable. League focuses more on mechanical skill while dota revolves around your decision making and game knowledge. You can excel at dota without being mechanically gifted obviously it will help if you were but it isnt a hard pre requisite like league that revolves around skill shot. League of Legends is more intense on playing the individual champions, therefore the players have higher muscular memory. Dota is more focused on items and strategy, therefore the players are excellent at macro games and planning ahead. Edit: oh yes, forgot about creep blocking, creep stacking, deny, trees, terrain, etc. Although all of these are macro and game knowledge.

I think overall the challenge of dota is that every second you're trying to do multiple things at once. For example the brain can get pretty stressed in mid where you have to lasthit, deny, harass, keep track of rune timings, stack at 55, peek at sidelanes for potential kills, keep map awareness and keep track of enemy items and skill builds.

What champions could be more intense than broodmother/meepo/invoker?

@@ChihiroNobunaga Azir, Nidalee, or Lee Sin. Nidalee can transform from ranged to melee form (which change all of your basic abilities), you have to be expert in landing skillshots as well as knowing when to all-in, how to place traps, etc. everything in one champion. Azir is incredibly difficult, you have sand soldier which you have to command directly to do auto attack or they will just stand still, plus you have to master all of his combos and he's a tempo based champion which means one small step matters. Even a lot of pro players can't get Azir right. Lee Sin is a pretty popular tempo based champion. Broodmother is not that intense, you just press Q and get spiders so you can get even more spiders. Elise from League is more intense version of Broodmother, because other than spawning spiders, you have to transform into two versions like Nidalee. On the other hand, I think Earth Spirit from Dota is also intense. Not the 'control many units' type intense, but the League type mechanically intense.

Very good fun and in good spirits. Just sad that only two summoner spells were allowed, because I think they'd enable more Dota strategies to work with. Flash as a Blink Dagger and TP as a TP Scroll replacement, maybe Smite as a farming tool for the ADC if he had a bad lane and retreated to the jungle like in Dota.

@@nguyenlong6603 TP used mostly for ganks, otherwise just Recall. Maybe some lane cutting with Smite on sieges or how they are called, Flash maybe more as an escape tool than initiation.

This is fun! I stopped playing both games already, but still enjoy watching clips from both. I played league for a couple of months and only made it to Gold and played dotA for like 7 yrs and only made it to ancient. League was easier for me tbh. It could be bcos i was playing against low elo players and plus i already have the mechanics from Dota2.

I remember the time when we used to farm for 30 mins just ti fight 10 mins and the game end in likes 50mins. I started playing again not Dota 2 but the Classic one, the original Dota. It's so hard man, if they deny the minion in early game we fucked up. Even the A.I are so hard if they pick OP heroes.

Dota macro gameplay is harder. Map control, split push, glyph, jungle stacks, limited wards and couriers - all are extremely important League micro gameplay is harder. Buttons, combos, runes system etc is harder, but dota has hard micro too. Unit control (summons and illusions) and a shit ton of active items. Just facts

@@valthenarutonerd Yes jg tracking isnt a thing you're right. ADC taking jg camps isn't a thing. Mid jg invading isn't a thing. League jungle is far more important to the game compared to jungle in dota that exists only as filler in between waves and to fix fucked up wave state through pulling.

@@shgalagalaa Seeing how often lanes either enhance or replace their farm (in case lane is absolute shit) with Jungle camps even before the laning stage is over I got to call bs, furthermore blocking camps, stacking camps, neutral items as well as heroes that literally turn jungle creeps into allies don't exist in League. Simply looking at where people place wards 25 minutes into a Dota game will reveal the fact that Triangle is one of the most important objectives in the game and if you can deny it from your enemy you shouldn't have much issue closing out the game at a later stage.

@@valthenarutonerd Are you seriously arguing that a naga moving into the jungle because the lane is unplayable is some insane macro play? Blocking camps only a thing to stop pulls in lane / stop ancient stacking, not exactly a hard macro play when even 4k mmr players do it lol. An area of the map like the triangle being a farm source doesn't make the macro aspect of it difficult. It isn't difficult to understand that losing triangle control is bad and will likely lose you the game. Also if you're just walking into the enemy triangle to ward without a 5 man smoke you're literally just feeding. Also your vision control argument would also apply to baron, dragon and jg control in league aswell.
