But overall - it is around 7-9th place...which I think is still amazing for 1,8M country where those who have this priviledge(in Latvia it is priviledge - it is not affordable for normal family) to play hokey, are also quite motivated and determined, also to not just play in best leagues, but be best in those leagues.

@CoopHawkeАй бұрын
@hockeyaddict7007 so you don't think this is ever the case for every other team Canada? They always play teams with more chemistry. The Spangler Cup is even worse as it's club teams vs team Canada but Canada still wins regularly and passes circles around other teams. They keep looking eachother off, not seeing simple plays and standing in eachothers space. This is base level chemistry when an RD has the puck at the point his linemates should now where to go. They don't though they circle around like chickens with their heads cut off. If you can't see this idk what to tell you lol.
@CoopHawkeАй бұрын
@hockeyaddict7007 I'd put my money on any past Canada world Jr. team beating Latvia. I've watched ever year this year and last year the teams have lacked chemistry. It's too many guys who think they're better than they are looking off teammates and trying to do it all themselves. Also you do understand team Canada at the Spengler Cup also couldn't make an NHL team? It's Canada's worst vs teams that have played professional hockey together for years. Team Latvia does not all play together all the time. In fact alot of the Canadian players played minor hockey together and against eachother just like every country. Acting like this team Latvia is special is ridiculous. Not that hard to see Canada took the wrong players, put together the wrong lines and have poor teamplay and strategy

Andrew Cristall has out produced every other major junior player for the past 1.5 years, and it's not close. He is at about 2 ppg over that span playing for a barely mediocre team. He should be running our powerplay.

Misa sounds like latvian surename... doesn't he have latvian roots?

If you take the top 10 in scoring from all 3 Canadian leagues you’ll find almost none of them on the roster. Lots of politics and nepotism ie. Oliver Bonk being selected 2 years in a row because his dad played in the NHL. Rehpkof being a healthy scratch is a joke.

Mark Messier expressed his concern over the cost to play hockey in Canada, and the decline in the number of kids playing hockey in Canada. I know we still have great players and a strong passion for the game, but I personally have noticed a big decline in the quality of players this country produces over years past. Goal tenders is one of the big red flags, but we'll see.

Overconfident and lost what an embarrassment and this panel is just as guilty of talking about the overconfidence and it shouldn’t even be a match

Really wish there was some type of coverage like this in the states. Great broadcast from tsn. I don’t think espn even knows this tournament is going on😂

@ oh yeah the channel you don’t get with any cable provider unless you pay for a sports package. You also can’t pay anywhere to watch just nhl network through an app or something. Most hockey fans in the states don’t even have it.

A GOALIE who was on raised his Team to a higher level. Canada is not out by no means. Play is just beginning in this Wonderful Hockey Tournament.

I'm a Canadian, I love the World Juniors, and I love seeing Team Canada win, but man do we take ourselves way too seriously. It's a game. We need to lighten up a bit. Congrats to Latvia.
