Yes the deserve to win o meter. Reminds me of TSN telling me during the last Montreal-Toronto playoff series that Auston Matthews was leading the entire playoffs in "expected" goals. In the end he scored one actual goal and five points in seven games as they lost in the first round. Deserve O Meter Buffalo outshot New jersey 13-4 in the third period because they were chasing the game, already down 3-0. The first period they were outshot 11-8 and they outshot New Jersey 11-7 in the second period. Once the game was over they started to play pretty well . They deserved to have their heads handed to them. They need to start sooner.

That was not it Hayes, some of the crowd left after Cousins throws that interception with 1:47 left in regulation, that's what you are seeing in that shot. They were trying to beat the traffic, they thought the game was over at that point.

Mike said it best, the leafs have three good years left to get it done, but it's actually two. This year is a bust if they are going to put holmberg, jarnkrok, kempf or mcman higher then third liners... That is their peek at max, to think they are good enough to be second liners in the NHL over matthews/marner/knies/domi/Robertson/nylander is pure insanity ... That's 6 there not counting tavares.

Feel bad for Liljegren. Every time it seems he actually has taken the step to becoming the guy they thought they were drafting, he gets hurt. Then it seems he has to claw his way back to where he started. I think he has to be the one to go, but it will hurt to see him on another team and finally becoming the guy the Leafs hoped they were drafting. No matter what happens, it's going to be an interesting couple of days. I am curious to see who skates opening night. You have to figure Lorentz deserves a contract now, and everyone is positive a Patches deal is a fait d'accompli. So who do they move? I'd take a bag of pucks in a trade if it meant shipping out Kampf, but that wouldn't free up enough space to sign Patches and Lorentz.

If domi and Matthews worked well last year, I don't know why they don't continue that? I would try Matthews center and Domi, Marner on wings. I understand wanting Kines on the first line. Then... I would try a second line with Domi at center, Nylander and Robertson on wings.

@@Nawtty8834 I could understand that. I think a real good coach knows to mix up the lines from time to time. Let everyone to learn to play with different teams mates for different reasons. Sometimes to understand the different communications skills. Mire importantly to not expose a constant to the opponents. The only problem with your second line suggestion is it looks like they stopped the idea of Nylander as center. I think it just doesn't work.

OBJECTION!!!!! I lost all respect for Mike Johnson. Not as a Leaf fan. To say the Leafs didn't deserve to win 1 Stanley Cup for 1993 with Doug Gilmore and Felix Potvin? I strongly disagree. Everyone knows the turning point that year was the wrong call on Wayne Gretzky.

Till Shanahan is gone TOR will make bonehead choices and sign horrible contracts to bad players. Liljegren has done nothing to deserve a contract , if another team is interested and asked us to sign him for a deal in future that is ok , but if not it is a head scratcher. How can TOR management not see what every single analyst and fan sees so clearly as fails? By the end of some of these contracts it will be the Toronto Mature Leafs!
