I don't think anyone should boo any athlete because they push the boundaries of human evolution. Couch-potatoes usually don't. But: You need to make sure that ticket prices are lower and that the entire experience in the arena is top-notch. People are paying money to get a break from real life.

This has nothing to do with winning/losing/rank etc, and has everything to do with an educated fan base that knows what it should take to build a Championship styled team. Those types of teams mainly consist of effort, consistency, & accountability, and those are the 3 traits the top half of the Leafs are lacking on a consistent basis as of late.

They’re the most overpaid players in the entire sports history and between Marner’s attitude and Matthews lax effort, in Carolina especially recently, OMG! 13.25 million bucks a year and he literally did whole shifts without taking more than 1 stride. If you can't boo your team when they're losing a 3rd straight, with poor effort, then when can you? At least they were down 4-1. I was in BUF to see the Avs play. 4giev was in typical form, BUF was pushing in COL's shit, it was 4-1 for BUF & they were in a playoff spot at the time. Sabres had one bad PP to start the 2nd and the crowd booed them.... I turned to my gf and said, "They're gumna pay for that." COL made the comeback and BUF lost like 12 striaght. That's when you don't boo.

The answer is yes. With the amount of money this hockey team pays the players when we get results like this they deserve to be booed. You need to understand before you sign a contract in Toronto that the fans want the Stanley cup. They have been disappointed for 58 years in a row. They are beyond pissed off. They support this team to the point where it is one of the most valuable sports franchises in the history of the world and all they want in return is the Stanley cup. This team is capable the way it is of defeating any other team on any night. And the fans want that effort put in every single game. And if they don't get it the players deserve the reaction that's going to come. This is not a crappy hockey team. This is a team that is capable of going all the way. And after tolerating crappy hockey teams for decades.... The franchise does not have the reasonable expectation that the fans are going to tolerate poor performances from this particular group of players. They are not. The fans are focused on one thing and 1 thing only . that is seeing the Stanley cup in Toronto 1 time in their life. And if this team doesn't do it there is going to be hell to pay. The other thing you have to understand is we are entering the part of the season where the Toronto team falls apart every single year. The fans know what happens in January. They dread it. And we have seen these 2 games before. 58 seasons worth. So on the off chance that the players or the organization is reading these words I suggest you heed them. Play harder. We want the cup.
