About Bio-Broly and the blood stuff: Dragon Ball's universe is one where you can put a fucking house in a capsule, have a time machine, magical beans, androids that adapt to everything and a radar for magical spheres that grant wishes. Recostructing a warrior by sampling their blood is NOT a far-fetched thing, there has been way more absurd shit and that's part of why DB feels so unique and original. Creating a time machine is fine but advanced DNA studies isn't? I say this 'cause I've seen people calling this a bullshit way to bring back Broly, but honestly the problem was that they brought back Broly in the first place, not how they did it. This was actually one of the few things that made sense in the entire movie.

I read allat. I agree that it's entirely reasonable for it to happen in this world, but I don't think it should be introduced. Specifically because it makes cloning way, way too easy, especially if it's so widespread. That just opens a whole other can of worms about stuff like bringing back the dead. Could they make an army of Gokus? Why focus on Androids instead? Why not meet halfway and clone a whole army of Android Gokus or something? With Dragon Balls you can get similar feats, but virtually nobody outside of the main cast knows about them and the same amount of people can feasibly collect and use them, so it checks out. Cloning from a single drop of blood just opens WAY too many complicated floodgates. And even if you could say that about some other stuff in the franchise which isn't coming to mind for me... Do you really want more of that? You don't want more problems. Most people don't ask for that.

Fun fact: Despite the fact people say he hates Goku due to the crying he actually doesn’t, in the Japanese Dub of the Z Broly movie Paragus explained that Broly actually sensed Goku’s power when he first arrived on the trap planet/New Planet Vegeta and that caused his saiyan instincts to go out of control which made him see Goku as a powerful opponent he wanted to fight and kill, the crying had nothing to do with it. Also in the JP dub he only knows Goku’s saiyan name because Vegeta said it right in front of Broly. Broly also only starts remembering Goku right when he is defeated.

The real reason is that koyama came up with the drafts for the story prior to the events of the manga unfolding. He explained that a lot of the movie timelines didn't make sense due to him having to make up things that happen as Toriyama is still making plot lines for the manga. Take the lord slug movie for example, Super saiyan has not been revealed in the manga yet but Koyama made up his own super saiyan form commonly called "false super saiyan" by the fandom. Koyama and Toriyama both agree that the movies happen in alternate dimensions so thats the in universe explanation as to why events don't sync perfectly with the main timeline we follow. The movies are essentially some xenoverse type branched histories.

14:12 Ok so to be fair regarding Goten and Trunk’s difference in knowledge, we have to account for the fact that it makes sense due to the different environments that each of them grew up in. Trunk’s mom is a genius and he’s constantly around other scientist within capsul corp. where as Goten grew up literally in the woods area, now that’s not to discount what he brings to the table as in parts of this movie Goten is shown to know about and solve problems that is a lot different from Trunks but in a way it adds a different perspective. I think their dynamic is great because while there are some similarities with how each kid resembles his father personality wise, Goten and Trunks are literally the versions of Goku and Vegeta minus the toxic rivalry; They’re a pair that make up a whole which is a big contributor as to why they’re the most effective when it comes to the concept of fusion.

Goten said "I wish my Dad were here" or something to that effect, which brought Goku from the Other World temporarily to fight, similar to how Fortuneteller Baba can do this for a day. Given that Goku is dead, he probably wished to remain dead, having the option, but we're in a movie that was rushed more than the deadlines manga writers have to meet

So, when it comes to the timeline with the movies, maybe, like, 2 of them makes sense. Dead Zone literally overlaps with the events of the Raditz Saga, Fusion Reborn is post Final Explosion but pre Buuhan (since both Vegeta and Goku are dead), etc etc. You gotta just view the movies as a separate universe where things happened differently in order for them to exist. Most likely, in Bio Broly, Buu was just never woken up and the movie is, like, a week after the tournament or something
