The latter is actually cannon. When a DF user dies, their DF transfer into a random fruit, and that random fruit becomes the new DF. Pretty sure blackbeard explained thats how it works in marineford. Also it has yet to be confirmed how blackbeard can steal DF power from corpses, let alone use 2 DFs at once, which pre marineford was deemed impossible. My headcannon for now is that its not impossible, and the world government just spread that rumour around the world so DF users dont start eating every DF they see and essentially become god.

Of course there's the problem that you can't be a double DF user naturally. Either the 2 cancel each other out or the user dies. (I think.) But Teach's fruit produces black holes. And black holes displace things they devour; essentially pulling them into a different space likely at the whims of the user. Hence why Teach still has his base fruit along with Whitebeard's while able to use them together. He is Kirby. But terrible.

There’s so many little nuances here that I’ve seen some miss, but you got most of them. The only thing I’d point out is (1) semla ain’t no oatmeal puff. Google that shit, it could prolly make me crash out, too 😂, and (2) as crazy as Lin Lin was, the red/heart eyes are something else. The semla triggered that episode. She might’ve led an entirely different life if they would’ve kept her away from sweets 🙂‍↔️ Also, Big Mom’s acquisition of Carmel’s devil fruit has to be a clue into how Blackbeard is doing that shit. Not only did he cover up so we couldn’t see if he took an ice cream scoop to 1 of Whitebeard’s torso holes, but if it is eating their flesh, he’s serving up PEOPLE to his whole crew, because the BB’s headhunt for specific powers. Giving a sniper a warp fruit is Final Fantasy Tactics level work…
