This is a best example of how showbiz couples should handle their heartbreaks.. with kindness and respect to one another after doing an adult decision especially knowing that you are followed by millions of fans. I am so happy that there is still someone who can be a good example to the millennials.. no publicity, no ranting and exchange of unkind messages as if they were strangers.. only pure Respect.. Your voice, I can feel the hurt.. the love.. the appreciation for the experience.. may you fully find the peace you are looking for..

Letter from a Fan: Dear Wil, This 2 part video you recently posted is a piece of art, very symbolic and relatable for most people. I watched your Letter from Nepal videos while laying down with my 1 year old daughter and wife beside me. Few hours ago I also just watched the new Netflix movie "14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible" (Spoiler Alert!) It is a story of a Nepali mountaineer named Nirmal Purja. He had a quest of climbing the peaks of 14 tallest mountains in the world awarding him 6 Guinness world record. Watching your videos there are 2 words that stood out to me the most; Memories and Pain. These 2 words are very hard to define/ quantify since they are subjective to each person. We just celebrated our daughter's first birthday last week and we were very anxious setting up the party. One question I had was how do we capture the memories? Do we need to hire a photographer? Later I was reminded by one of my friends to cherish the moment with my daughter and don't worry about pictures and that they will take them for me - A picture is worth a thousand words but a memory is priceless. So if those memories were cherished(true, honest, transparent, you gave your 100%); they will never fade. Pain is a perception, triggered by sensory receptors in our skin - physical pain. The worst though is emotional/mental pain. Mr. Nirmal the Nepali mountaineer had no problem enduring the physical pain when he climbed those 14 mountains. The worst pain he had during this journey was when his mom got critically sick, he was worried his mom would not witness his success. I have followed you for years and witnessed a very adventurous life, you have been to the best places in the world. I envy you, but there are some moments that we as fans don't see: the ones behind the lens. One of the life lessons I learned being an adult and the one that I always teach to a class is "There are things that we cannot control, what we have 100% in control is our reaction to internal/external stimuli". Like traffic; you can honk, get mad you are late or you can listen to a motivational podcast instead(my fav). Stay strong, I am praying for bright future for you and those mountains. Hopefully we can fight climate change. Sometimes we think it is already the end, but actually it is the beginning of something else. Your non-sherpa fan, OMGTRN p.s. I am a nurse here in Virginia,USA. My background is oncology. I tried to reach out to you during your treatment through different ways even emails to no avail. Glad you are doing well. I am happy you noticed this letter =)

There is no joy without sadness, no happiness without pain, no life without love... to get hurt because of love is better than not having loved at all... and as with real life, reaching that summit, getting that happy ending - what you hold steadfast to without budging, and what you're willing to give up for the other - is always up to you.

With all the metaphors, from sugar to sleeping to playing as a job to the different lifestyles. Maybe your 2 part video should be a part of a film course in college :D. Once I finished watching the video, I don't know why, but I felt calm. Not sadness. Calm because deep down, I know that the end was not a destructive ending, but more of a decision made for the betterment of all involved. Maybe this journey is something to let you know what you're signing up for. So that when you come back and try again, you will be prepared - mentally, emotionally and physically - and be able to see that journey to its end. Too bad that we have another covid variant around. Countries were starting to open up to travel and tourism. I was looking forward to more travel content from you.

I sat quietly in my living room in the dark and just listened to my own breath and let my chest rise and fall. There was so much to take in and feel in this work... Fear, yearning, hope, desire, uncertainty, wonder, and a need for just more... And the questions kept dancing around my head as I closed my eyes... Who am I, where do I fit, how does this define me, what is failure, what is success, is it even enough for me, what's next, and how can I even begin to share the feelings that explode from my gut and fill the screen? But, after it's all said and done there is nothing but memory. And memory comes to us in stillness when we sit in solitary quiet. And memories are the stuff that shape us and allow us to grow in grace. They are the flesh, blood, mud, clay, blood, heart, and soul that build our better selves. We have learned how to carry our brother's weight, give an extra morsel of food, and provide the generosity to share simple human warmth in a single sleeping bag on a cold mountain night despite the sweat, breath, and stink we all have as humans. We look back on simple acts and remember how to be simply better men and women. And it all happened in the shadow of one of the most beautiful, shy, yet unforgiving empresses that rule nature. She was the queen of your thoughts throughout this journey... and will continue to haunt you... but this is not a memory that should be filled with regret, for you have come away as a better and more feeling man... a better storyteller who has seen the queen and knelt beneath her icy throne. The storyteller will return, but in knight's armor...ready for another sojourn. Until then... Keep on keeping on.

I am your follower for a long time & I kept my opinion to myself but I knew that one day, yoy might come to this point - separation bec simply you two are totally opposite with no meeting point. She is an office girl, business woman & more indoors. He is free spirited, outgoing & has the energy that is on the go. You both are very strong opposing energies. I can see his effort to enter her world but eventually you'll get tired. As an observer, viewer, supporter I think it is better this way so both get to really live their preferred lives. I wish you both well. I love this story telling btw. This one is a symbolism of art and poetry. After years of vlogging, this one is very different. I love it!

Saw it coming as well. It's like trying to force the same sides of a magnet to stick together.

And to add it up, Alodia is an introvert and Wil is extrovert. Aside from different personalities, they also have different views in life like even on the theme of the house. Alodia is techy cyber modern homebody girl while Wil is conventional naturist adventurist. Im not sure also if they also have the same love language?

I cried a river. I have been following this couple ever since it boomed and here I am contemplating every detail, from the airport till the end of it. I could picture everything and I AM CRYING WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY YOU HAVE HAD. No pressure but I wish to see both the mountain and wil to be together again even as just cronies or so.

"Ultimately, its all irrelevant to me because i know myself and i dont need any form of exterior validation especially those from strangers", he talks about unsolicited advice etc. This is just so wholesome, self growth and just doing it all privately. I am amazed by this tough decision but you're coping beautifully. I hope she's doing the same. And maybe, the path will cross again.
