Thank you, have been looking at sharpening system for my high end knives, the wicked edge gen 3, and the master kit TSPROF I have looked at many videos and I think it's time to buy, the TSPROF looks to be the safest bet, much more manly design.

You won't be disapointed. I would look st Gritomatic or STATES LLC as they are the US distributors that normally have stock in the US. I know both owners and you can't go wrong with either. I will say tho: I had the Gen 3 Wicked Edge and can tell you 100% that it produces AMAZING edges very consistently. With that said, I still prefer the KO3 for stone choice (literally 100s) stout steal and aluminum build quality and overall fun factor while sharpening. Either way you cant go wrong, but TSPROF is built like a tank. Good luck. Thanks for subscribing. Will be making more videos soon.

Hey Daniel... thanks for the post. I'm waiting on a K03 Master Kit from TSPROF. I'm so stoked. Also purchased the extended angle adjuster and 3 Naniwa Pro stones. Subbed and look forward to a few more K03 vids... Cheers...

Ducati, you'll be really happy when it all arrives from mother Russia. Takes awhile, but I believe your lift unit will come with the updated rod bearing as well. Let me know when it arrives and what you think foreal. I love talking about, and seeing other people's setups as well as making videos about mine. Cheers!

What was your deciding factor on choosing the TSProf K03 instead of the Hapstone R1?

The only feature lacking on the K03 rack and pinion is a stone thickness compensator.

I was going to get one of the tsprof systems a few years ago but they were backordered. So being impatient I bought a kme with the full Chosera stone set. It's a good system but I've always had the itch for a tsprof. But now I see that there are making a compact model the tsprof blitz. I was wondering if you are subscribed to their newsletter and if they may have sent you any info on it?
@danielslatenightsharpening254

Shawn thanks for watching. Let me try and explain what TSPROF has told me directly. I think it will make you feel better and help your decision. The BLITZ is a seperate product line. It doesnt replace the KO3 as the BLITZ is a smaller, more compact sharpener that can sharpen most knives, but obviously by design its specialty will be pocket knives. If you've seen the BLITZ with any object as a visual reference, you'll see how small its clamps are, and how small the system is. With that said, the BLITZ looks great and its truly a whole different design with some real cool features....but it's not a replacement for the larger KO3. KO3 can use multiple clamps, tables, its rotation mechanism is the best on the market, and its stroke length is very far reaching. I hope this helps. I understand your concern as I reached out to TSPROF as soon as I saw a prototype version on a Russian instagram post months ago. Hence the clarification by then, to me directly. Good luck, you'll be happy with either one, but I'd definitely get the KO3. Daniel

I just subscribed...I don't remember where I seen the tsprof sharpening system but did a search on mechanical sharpening systems and found it. Obviously a quality system is an important factor for me since early onset of arthritis affects my ability to sustain a session of hand sharpening particularly multiple knives...looking forward to your vids...thanks

How you doing C D, I take care of my mother who has RA, and general arthritis in her wrists. She's been on steroids and immune suppressors for quite awhile. I hope your arthritis stays put and you find a happy medium. I can say that the TSPROF system is almost relaxing in the sense that it just glides over the knife....no pressure unless you want pressure, but not required. Thank you for joining and I hope to see you around!

@@StropSharp CD, sorry I forgot to respond when I first saw this. Google search: STATES LLC. That will get you to the US TSPROF distributer. His name is George O Brian; hes a great guy and hes the one I felt with. If you aren't trying to get the newest version, he sells the previous generation TSPROF systems for a considerable discount. To be completely honest, George has 100% followed through with any concern I've had, all the way to sending me a new unit and waiting for me to send the original back. If you do end up getting one definitely let me know and send me a picture of your sharpening station/area. Hope this helps. Daniel

Thanks for the great video, any chance I could ask what diameter 8mm? and length the stone holding rod ? ( the rod that slides in the new bushing you mentioned) I'm trying to get a feel for this unit, and can't seem to find any measurements anywhere. Thanks in advance! keep up the great work Sir!

The venev diamond stones are less expensive than the edgepro matrix stones (especially the dual sided ones). Are the matrix stones worth the higher cost?
@danielslatenightsharpening254
@danielslatenightsharpening254 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Harivney, Good question and one that's been asked before. If I ONLY had the OCB stones then I'd be okay with it. As of right now I only know of 3 OCB grits, so the Matrix stones kinda fill in that gap. With that said, I've REALLY enjoyed how both the OCB and Matrix stones cut and feel. I think youd be happy with either one. Hope that helps!

Great video.... thank you for sharing. Regarding your stones, do you use a diamond flattening tool? Thank you again ... Bob
@danielslatenightsharpening254
@danielslatenightsharpening254 4 жыл бұрын
Bob, yes I do. I have an XXCourse DMT 8x3 and a Fine 8x3 DMT for flattening my stones. I will normally use the course DMT for 95% of my stones, but for stones like my 10k or 13k I'll use the fine DMT instead. Looking back, all you really need is 1 course DMT 8x3. That'll do you well. Good luck. Thanks for watching!

Hello I just ordered the K03 Masters kit. I watched a review on Tsprof and the water stones that come with it wears very quickly. Is this true? I'm concerning some better stones Any suggestions

Thanks for watching. I HIGHLY recommend piecing together a Naniwa Chosera water stone set, even if you only get 1 stone st a time to save on the costs. Also highly, highly recommended; at least 1x 60-80 grit Venev Diamond stone to do the heavy cutting when its needed. Last, I'd also highly recommend Edge Pro Diamomd Mayrix stones. They are pricey, but they cut amazing and leave an insane finish for there respective grit ratings. I'd also piece those 1 by one as the whole set would be around 300.00 or so. Hope this helps. If you're short on cash, I'd get 1 Venev bonded diamond stone at 60 grit, and then a 1000 Naniwa Chosera stone. Hope this helps!
