It has to be dark blue, and you got to drive a like kart driver (Go search a youtube video, someone had did it already in a real car, no shift at the entry but a rather low gear with high RPM turn). @@dbspaceoditty it’s not the skid plate, it’s the travel of the suspension itself. Sport suspension is low travel and stiff. If you over load it, it hits the bump stop, and stresses the mounts. Glorious, I know it is not possible, or atleast pretty difficult in other hairpins, in corner 33 it is a bit easier, but only a bit, we need a rally suspension MR2, to fully test it however, since the MR2 in INITIAL D (I speculate) had one, because of its owner backstory.
@rallywagon2612 жыл бұрын
Even in a rally car, the suspension for tarmac is not setup like the suspension for dirt. It's possible they ran it, but given the height of the car, I am not keen on believing it was run on rally suspension.

@@rallywagon261 they may have lowered it because it was an average street car after
@rallywagon2612 жыл бұрын
@@jordanrobshaw1406 that doesn't make anything better. A rally suspension alone isn't going to make that car handle a 5 foot drop with likely an off camber landing. If the suspension is lower, then it's not going to have the travel needed to absorb the energy when it lands. It's going to slam into the bump stops, if they have bump stops, and all of that energy is going right to the frame, not to mention the energy of the engine and trans smashing into its mounts. The MR2 would either have smashed out, or with rally suspension set up specifically to handle jumps, might have survived the jumps, but them would be so high and loose it would never have kept up as the body roll would have been to much. And, I think it also fair to point out the car also lacked a roll cage, which makes it highly likely it had no chassis stiffening going on, so even with rally suspension set up for jumps, you're only getting in a run or two before the chassis starts getting twisted. Which brings us back to the 86. Street/sport suspension, no chassis stiffening, on a cheap street car. That car wouldn't have survive the first jump at all.

@gelatinous6915 Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that this is a game map and not the real thing. Actual racers that drive irohazaka have said that the edge is too narrow, basically there isn't room to finish the turn without running into the guardrail. That being said, the thing that likely inspired the jump (which is possible) involves running over the sloped median which can get a bit of airtime and shave off distance. It destroys your suspension and isn't very common but it's been done (according to local legend.)

Never tried this course on a proper sim. only places i have was the initial D arcade games, and tokyo extreme racer drift. i always thought in more realistic circumstances the car would be a huge factor in success. like a super low car with a stiff suspension wouldnt work, but more rally like cars would have an easier time. especially 4wd where the front tires that make contact first would help stabilize the car, whereas in a rwd you would have to wait until the rear comes down to begin using the throttle.

I did that jump right back in 1999 with need for. There's a track with a set of Tight hairpins And coming up to the 1st one Have you immediately started a drift early early and Dive off the side of the track before the turn you would do it 180 in the air Land on the edge of the road after the Turn slide Sideways a little bitEnding up on the inside lane Then Stand on the throttle And you had more Exit speed for the short straight to the next turn I was actually able To shave over 6 seconds Off of my laptime.

I think you’d need to really snap it shut, and absolutely DUMP that clutch. It’s probably easier to do in GTA, as that physics engine is designed to feel physical and robust but be grossly exaggerated, like in action movies. Also good to note that a lack of barriers, and maybe a sharper embankment would be beneficial. Sadly, as GTA is set in a fictional American city similar to LA, there aren’t any Touges. Still, doing very theatrical moves like handbrake turns feels a lot more comfortable and achievable.

Idk, I didn't really buy into in the show, just made our some fun side plot crap to make the race there more interesting. In real life, kiss that car good bye. Dropping a car 5 feet running anything other than a lifted suspension that can take 1.5 tons of force dropping that far isn't going to end well. Even rally spec suspension would hate this without being fully lifted. At the height the car runs in the show, might as well kiss the front end, and likely the oil pan and transaxle case goodbye along with it, even more so for the venerable hachi roku, which would likely twist the frame among other issues trying to pull this off. Not to mention, with how awkward and clunky it is trying to get that near 180° turn in there to make the jump doesn't really seem like your gonna be making the turn any faster than a traditional line through the corner. I can only assume anyone arguing this as a legit strat has never actually driven a car, and their whole racing/automotive experience is based on this anime and video games.
