I understand the song to be a poem about someone who left "home" and went out into the world (Ndihambile, ndibonile..I've travelled. I've seen things"). The world was tough on the person("Bandixelele...bandinikile..ningafunanga...Boy, did life hand it to me [closest English translation while keeping the essence"].Now the person wants to fly back home to the one she loves."Ndiza, ndizakundiza"...Fly, fly back, I will come back to you, I will bring you my battered heart. This heart - make it pure.
