I Installed my plate (2017 FZ 09) in the adjustable high position, at about the angle shown in the video. I went over some rough road surface, and my rear tire taco’ed the plate (5-10, 230, rear shock on the second stiffest notch). I had to tilt the plate up a few more degrees to make sure I had clearance.

I actually really like the swingarm mounted license plate location. Yes, the stock components are a little chunky, but I'm disappointed that I've only found one company so far making a kit to clean it up without moving the mount to the underside of the tail. I'd much rather keep the tail clean with something like the R&G Racing fender eliminator and then polish it up further with your integrated tail light.

Installing my kit on Wednesday!!! Quick Q. When securing the high mount close out pieces with the M5 screws provided, why tighten them to bottom out then quarter turn back? What’s the purpose of that? Also the old wire for the licence plate mount does that wire feed back into the bike and can it be rerouted to under the seat to connect a new plate light? My bike is in storage at the moment so I can’t check that out.

Alright sir. The answer to your first question is simple. The middle undertail fairing piece has a tough time fitting in between the closeout pieces if they aren't exactly in the right place. This is why we recommend backing off the screws enough to enable adjustability in the closeout halves. After you get the center and side tail fairings together, then you tighten those down all the way, ensuring proper fit of those three bodywork components and our closeout parts. This will prevent headache in assembly and unsightly gaps in the body joining lines. As far as your license plate light wire goes, you can definitely retract the OEM wire and plug back into the trunk area. You can make your license plate light wire connection there. As an alternative, you can connect the license plate light wires to the blue and black taillight wires (+, ground respectively). This will also work if you don't want to go through retracting the OEM wire.

I’ve just purchased an MT09 2017 model. And I am very much wanting to replace the stock swingarm with your Fender eliminator kit. But with that also comes the need to replace the taillights and license plate light. And next to that I might aswell replace the front turn signals with the MECH Gtr ones you guys make. However I find it a little difficult to put together all the components I need for such a modification. I need to figure out if your cables and connectors work with my EU model. And since shipping is like 45$ I’d want to order everything in one go. Do you have something like a spreadsheet of everything you need for certain modifications? To make sure I’m not forgetting anything. Many thanks! Sure looks very nice and sleek!

We don't have a spreadsheet for that bike but we do have customer service reps that can guide you. I do believe that the front signals in EU do not have the same connectors as ours, and they do not have a running light function. So we have an optional connection setup made for EU customers but if you need the running light function that wire will still have to be tapped into a switched/fused circuit (eg: running light in headlight). Please send our guys a message through our website. They will be able to get you sorted. Just be advised today we are closed for a holiday. We open back up on Tuesday.

Where does the existing number plate light cable go?? Where do you wire the TST number plate light too?

The existing license plate light connection is shown at time stamp 5:12. You can snake that back up to the trunk area and connect to it, or you can tap into tail light running light circuit. Blue wire is the positive, black is ground.

Nothing to look out for really. You can snake back the OE license plate light wire and get it back into the tail section. You can then use the connectors we provide with our license plate light to tap into those wires.you can also just tap into the running light circuit of the tail light with the connectors we provide. For the excess wire....it's up to you. I always try to keep wire lengths as short as possible to get wires tucked away and managed against frame members or existing wire routing geometry on the bike. You can snip off excess as necessary.

Is there a posibility that you guys make the low profile kit for the 2018+ MT-07 or that this one might fit(no way, I know)? It makes the bike look so clean and beautiful.. I just ordered the integrated tail light, flashmount LEDs and the relay and cannot wait for them to arrive!

At this point we do not make that, sorry. We looked into it and there was no easy way to mount somewhere that wouldn't cause interference during suspension travel. We could technically come out with a very fancy kit but then the price would be high and modifications to the bike reqyured....I didn't think it was worth it. We already had a few successful fender eliminators so we left it there.

I believe you are talking about the area with the aluminum fins. This is the bikes' charging system rectifier. It needs cooling so do not block it off.

We have sold many of these setups to EU and UK, and haven't heard any complaints. I think there is a UK based MT09 Facebook group. You can check with guys there to see if someone can verify fit. The signals we have are smaller than OEM but still pack a lot of brightness. It is tough to compare them without photometry.

I think you are referring to the rear fender / hugger on this bike. It is a carbon fiber product made by us. The owner of this bike had a Yoshimura exhaust and that is where he placed the stickers that came with the exhaust. @@tylergosson5277 if you need help with the license plate light then you can snake back in the long a$$ wire back from the swingarm fender into the tail and connect there. That will make use of the original license plate light connection. You can also expose the three conductor tail light plug and wire into the blue (+) and black (-) of that plug. That will also work simply for you.

It clearly shows the tail light in place before and after installation. We take you through the entire installation process in detail. Then we get questions that clearly show that this person did not watch the video. I know that everyone nowadays is expecting the canned "yes sir" attitude but you came to a biker channel. You are going to get some push back when you aren't utilizing the resources we worked so hard to put in front of your face. The information is there already...in words and images.

Everything in the kit is the same for fixed low, fixed high, and adjustable except the license plate bracket components. Fixed high is the non-adjustable version that gets mounted roughly where the OEM signals used to be. Fixed low is the non-adjustable version that mounts your license plate deeper into the above wheel space on the undertail. Here are some photos to illustrate. If you notice, this is an installation video. The installation shown is for one module; the fender eliminator. We have many signaling options, each of which has its own video to convey the installation method for those sets of parts. And the license plate light has its own installation video. So you see, all the installations are shown just in their separate segments. If we had to show all the installations for all the options the video would be 2 hrs long....good luck scrolling through that

All the others I've seen so far have a light on the number plate but don't fit well. At present I've tried 2 and returned for the same reason. If you could point me to something that has the light I'm talking about I'd be more than happy to place the order. Also..FYI I just placed my order for the above fender eliminator yesterday. :)

The license plate light we designed to work with our fender eliminators is a separate module. Some people want a license plate light on their bike, while others do not. Locations are fine! Easily readable from the back of the bike that’s all that “should be” required! But to keep easily readable make sure that it is lit up!

We make the license plate lights available with every kit we sell, yet some people still opt not to install them. This is why they remain a separate piece that is easily added to your cart. For every installation video we focus only on the components of that particular kit. We have a separate universal installation video for for the license plate light.
