I was definitely split after looking at the conceptual design of the light. After seeing the final product I think it looks much better, and you can change the turn signal/brake light setting without purchasing an additional controller! If anyone is interested in this tail light make sure to have a look in the "Garage Sale" section of the site first. I ordered what TST considers a cosmetically blemished unit and I haven't had the heart to tell them that whoever is QCing the product needs glasses. The damn thing looks absolutely perfect until you're about 1/4" away and then you can see one tiny little rub mark. Thanks TST. I'll be putting in another order soon in anticipation of picking up my bike for the spring riding season!

We wanted to use congruent design language for the rear of the bike. I actually meant for it to look like ducts with turbofans in them but that look is not apparent to most people.

Damn, I'm looking at getting an MT-09 for next riding season and that tail light just makes that back end. Its so good looking, it reminds me of like a jet engine kinda. Like it should be spitting fire!

That is great....you actually got the inspiration behind the design. In this one Bart wanted to invoke the geometry of dual turbofans inside exhaust ducts kind of like on the back end of a jet fighter. The bike already looks like a mech warrior and we felt it just needed some turbofan jets coupled with an enclosure geometry that merges the angular and curvy body lines of its design language.

Hello all, just working through the final stages of this install. Great so far. I went to test the right/left signal orientation and the following happened. My front indicators are stuck on. Might anyone know what this might be indicating?

What kind of indicators do you have in the front? Are they OEM? If not, we will need to know how they are wired in. So other than buying washers. What should I do about the plate that holds the turn signals? When I took them off they won’t go back on the whole way because the rubber washers are attached to the blinkers. I’m sure this is taken care of with the fender eliminator kit but I haven’t purchase it yet.

I got my order in today. Cant wait to install this plus the fender delete/low mount and the flush mount turn signals for the front. I also bought the low pro Plate light. Do you guys have any pictures/video showing the installation for this on the MT 09? specifically where I plug the wires into?

Sorry, we only have the universal video for the license plate light. It is difficult to shoot that video for every single model we serve. You can either plug it into the blue and black wire on the new tail light, or snake back into the trunk area the wire that extends down the swingarm to the fender, and plug into that.

installed mine,its bad ass .......recommend never using 3MM allen head bullet head fasteners ,too small and they stripped.Not sure why you have 4 and 3MM when you could have easily used 4MM for all 4 hols on the bracket that bolts down the lamp

When testing signal patterns, my blinkers auto cancel themselves. Even with the hazard switch. There’s also some weird coiled wires with flat ends amongst my wiring but not plugged in to anything. Any ideas? The joys of buying a used bike...

We packed as many LEDs into these lights as we could fit. Both smoked and clear are very bright. Smoked does have tint in the lens so the light output is attenuated a bit. If you want the light to be as bright as it can be then I recommend getting clear.

What tail lights or eliminator kit will work on my 2000 ,RC51, 1000r.. I've heard Hayabusa but not what year or anything like that the only one I can find for it has got dim brake lights and turn signals

I can't really help you with that. As far as I know the helicopter aka RC51 has a mud guard integrated into the undertail and needs to be modified to remove the fender. There are kits in existence that require modification to the fender on the bike but come with tail lights and undertail cover. Check hotbodies.com

I've never liked integrated turn signals. The turn light is just too close to the main light to differentiate, especially at the typical distances of traffic. If you want to be far less safe, install an integrated light. And how else in traffic really gives a flying rip what your bike tail looks like? It matters more how they can see the signal and tell which way you plan to turn. Get LED stalks and keep them away from the tail. The strobed brake light is a GREAT idea. Integrated turn is NOT.

Unfortunately we have had much difficulty with our shipments making it to the customers in Brazil. Many were lost in shipment once they entered Brazil. In that case we have to refund the customer and our parts are lost. It's just not worth the risk. Maybe one day a distributor from Brazil will become interested in our parts and get them in bulk from us and sell through their own network within your country. For now we are just forced to wait for that distributor to show up.

Depends on the state. I know here in California they would be "illegal" as signals need to be at least 9" apart. Here's a little snip from the code "...Front and rear turn signal lamps on motorcycles shall be at least 23 cm (9 in.) apart, except that front turn signals on motorcycles manufactured after January 1, 1973, shall be at least 40 cm (16 in.) apart." So you will need to also run the stock or aftermarket blinkers to avoid possible hassle with LE. Although in my experience the majority cops wont care about small shit like lights as long as you dont ride crazy and give them a reason to start looking for violations.
