Cuz it shows us that Shinobu Kocho respect and loves her sister so much that she probably tries to emulate her, being all sweet and things like that, but deep down she still has that temper. So it shows like a mix of both and end up looking like she's a psycho. Hahahaha

I never thought of it like that! Shinobu definitely took up a tone of voice that resembles her sister’s but sounds almost too sweet and fake cheerful. She just hides her true fiery nature inside but Tanjiro could sense that.

The stone Hashira, Gyomei (the guy that always has tears running), during the Hashira meeting states that it's difficult to ask more from those who didn't join the Corps due to loved ones dying (like Tanjiro) or those who don't belong to families that have been hunting demons for generations (possibly like Lady Kocho?). And while I agree with disappointing sentiments directed at Zenitsu and Inosuke, I think Tanjiro's background and his desire to cure Nezuko pushes him that much further comparatively; he still thinks of his family's death while doing his breathing training as we see in the last ep. This isn't a choice to him, he HAS to cure Nezuko. Life as a Demon Slayer is far from ideal, so can only imagine what the other Hashiras are motivated by for them to push their skills so far. On a completely separate note, I love little trio helpers and am glad you guys like them so much too! It's adorable that Tanjiro gets along with them so well since he was the eldest brother of his family. Great reaction as always!!

You talked about Japanese accents at the beginning of this reaction. There is also a scene in this episode where accents are very important. Tanjiro asked Shinobu about the Fire Breathing technique. I think it's because he thought that Hinokami Kagura was a dance dedicated to the fire god, Hi(Fire) no(of) Kami(God) sama(title, prefix). In episode 19, Tanjiro's mother says, "Our family works with fire, so we offer this dance to Hinokami-sama." "The God of fire" and "Hinokami-sama" have the same characters and the same pronunciation but different accents. "Hinokami" has an accent like a proper noun.

The long lineage of Flame Breathing users make a big point about calling it Flame Breathing and never allow anyone to mistakenly call it Fire Breathing. This and the fact that Fire Breathing doesn't exist have the same common reason: respect for Sun Breathing. Sun Breathing (日の呼吸) is read as Hi no Kokyu and Fire Breathing (火の呼吸), if it existed, would also be read as Hi no Kokyu. Because of this homophonic coincidence, the ancestors of the Rengoku family chose not to call their practice Fire Breathing, but went out of their way not just to call it Flame Breathing (炎の呼吸) whose pronunciation (Hono no Kokyu) cannot be mistaken for Sun Breathing, but also to make sure nobody makes that mistake even if only accidentally. Kanao's backstory IS heavy. Thankfully, we'll never know what exactly she was sold into, but Adam is right, it was pretty common for kids in poverty to be sold like that back in the day :( A distant relative gave my great-grandfather money for my grandma to be an in-house maid/nanny for them so, she was technically sold to them and sent away to vietnam from china. She was quite young when it happened. This was in the 1940/50s so not quite as far back as you would think😬 That scene where Kanao is given a bath and you can see that there's tears also flowing down her face...probably the first bit of emotion she felt since dissociating completely 😭 A small detail that some people may not have noticed but, Kanao inherits one of Kanae's butterfly clips and wears it in her side ponytail 🥺Such a bittersweet detail 🥲 Not a spoiler, just a manga extra that didn't make it into the anime: the Kocho sisters let Kanao choose her own last name. In a manga extra, we are shown that the sisters gave Kanao several last names to choose from, including their own and that of Aoi's (the grumpy girl with pigtails and blue butterfly clips). Kanao panicked and ended up choosing randomly, hence why her last name is Tsuyuri instead of Kocho. They do however, consider her their legally adopted sister. I thought it was really sweet that they gave her some agency to choose, rather than just deciding for themselves to give her their last name. A few months of training are quite short, but I think it's important to note that Tanjiro was putting 200% effort into it with his veins bulging, muscles straining and Kanao only had to put in slightly more effort than usual to keep up. Love that the Ubugawa guy haunts Sarah even outside of Haikyuu. He's just out here catching strays 😂 I love how calm slice-of-life-ish these eps are. My biggest complaint of demon slayer is that sometimes the pace is too fast and we don't get too much of these slower episodes where we can breathe and just watch the characters interact. We get to see more of their personalities and how they are in more normal, non-life threatening situations. One more episode!! Very excited for you guys to move onto the next season.

Hey guys, so to avoid confusion you have to watch mugen train after s1, either in movie or episodic form, (given that 1st episode of s2 is new and was not in the movie). After that you have to watch entertainment district arc. At some sites, both were included in s2 where as in other sites mugen train was a separate season and the other arc a separate one, thats where the confusion comes from. You just have to remember the arcs you need to watch.

I always look forward to your channel, Saarah san and Adam san! As for your Japanese pronunciation, it's very easy to understand. Japanese pronunciation is characterised by 'emphasising vowels'. For example, "Zenitsu" sounds like "zEN I tsU". Many Japanese people, including myself, have difficulty with English pronunciation. So don't worry about the pronunciation of Japanese words and enjoy the story!

Making swords is a LOT of work, it takes at least 6 months and involves several people on the make of a single Katana, that if it does not go to the finest of the polishing which takes from 2 to 3 years. Tanjiro sword does snaps but the reason isnt that he is using it casually the reason is the sword's black color and his breathing technique he uses water breathing which isnt suitable for his body or sword havent u noticed in episode 19 tanjiro cuts off the head of lower 5 with a broken sword using hinokami kagura which he learnt from his father i think thats his breathing style not water breathing(this is what i think the reason may be different though)

Y’all should really watch the next arc 2 episodes at a time. It’s one of the best arcs of the story imo…well each arc is great in its own way, so really they’re all great. Demon slayer has an all around great story. BUT if yall wanna witness one of the greatest story’s ever told you need to watch attack on titan!!! If you haven’t already! I always heard ppl recommending it and telling me to watch it and saying how great it was but I never had any interest, I truly regret not listening to them sooner cuz once I started watching it I understood immediately what all the buzz was about!! I’ve seen that show turn so many anime haters into anime fans(I’m one of them!)!!Another story I absolutely love is Hunter x Hunter!! It’s a bit more whimsical & fun(at first) but still a great story that gets even crazier after the anime ends!! I’m all about the story, I think it’s the most important thing! I can handle about anything as long as the story is good & interesting, with all the crappy stories lately anime is about your only option for a good story these days cuz most(not all but the majority)of stuff coming from Hollywood, Disney & the other major studios have been CRAP!!! Like I will never forgive what they’ve done with that new LOTR show or what they’ve done to Star Wars!! Just completely destroyed the stories in every way they could!! It’s sad. Another story I really enjoy is one punch man!! It’s more of a funny, action, fighting one but it actually has a pretty great story once it gets into it, definitely not what I expected from it anyways. There’s plenty of great ones and I hope yall watch more & more anime!!

Actually, when Tanjiro is brought to the mansion, we see a member of the "clean-up crew" (I don't remember their team name) asking a question to Kanao to which she answers the same thing over and over after flipping her coin, up until Aoi shows up. So we do hear her say a few words out loud until later episodes.

One of the two asked Kanao if it is okay to bring Tanjiro there (or something along those lines) to which Kanao answered something unrelated (nice to see you or whatever). Then Aoi came and took them in instead because Kanao didn't respond properly. The episode title is "Butterfly mansion", probably ep.22, I'm not sure

1:30 Adam almost got how "Inosuke" is pronounced. The e in "ke" should sound like Egg. The u in "su" is silent so it's like double ss. "InosskE" You will get it eventually as you watch more episodes just listen carefully how they pronounce names. Love your reactions as always!

Movie first! The context in 2x1 isn't needed to enjoy the movie but the movie bolsters 2x1 to an absurd degree. However, I'm willing to settle for movie second as long as we get the movie (at least in 3 chunks) instead of the whole episodic season.

@@rasna2212 I honestly think that's inaccurate. We're supposed to learn about Rengoku at the same time that Tanjiro and the gang do. This whole show works like that: we see things through their eyes. The private knowledge in 2x1 is meant to be retrospective; Rengoku doesn't need a special episode to introduce him *ahead of his introduction* . Do you see such an episode for Uzui? Kanroji? Tokito? Or even Tomioka? Their private lives and actions there-in are always supplemental material meant to be consumed after we've already made their acquaintance. If things are meant to be viewed chronologically then 1x1 would be Muzan's origin story.
