Underrated episode of the whole season. It's quite touching when you get to see the backstory of Ushiwaka and Tendou and why are they playing volleyball, as this two get to team up in the same team and break other players dreams to make it up to their own reason why they're playing.

When the call was overturned, it wasn't that the ball hit the line, don't know why they did this. It was because tsukki had touched it and then it went out. And as the next instant you see tsukki with a busted finger, it's pretty obvious that it was shiratorizawas point

I guess they wanted to show how sometimes plays are so fast you can't see clearly and you have to guess what happened (and often you shout at the ref even tho he is right). One of the many things that come naturally if you are a player, but can appear inconsistent for non players

I think Tsukki's finger was cut from the impact of the ball but they probably check the footage to confirm it
@JacopoBasanisi2 жыл бұрын
@@wymg4480 A weird injury, because blood usually spills at impact with nails (cuts) and Tsukki's finger is sprained by the impact (spoiler but not really lol). I guess they showed blood to emphasise "something bad happened", the same way Daichi was presumed dead after Tanaka hit him, but it was really a fairly normal game incident

Volleyball saved Tendo. If it was not for volleyball, Tendo could have become a delinquent or a bullied nerd in school. But he ended up taking out that stress and bullying in matches. I believe that's what he means by 'Keep breaking them up. What you say ? Their hearts'

Since the question came again this episode: If the ball touches the roof (or anything else out of bounds) it counts as out. So point for the team who didn't touched it last. Also about the lines: As long as the ball touches the line in any way, even if it's only a tiny bit, it counts as in. And about the Overrule: I was always confused by that. I guess it was translated badly or just transferred wrong into the Anime. In the Manga, you can cleary see, that the overrule is cause the Referee saw that the ball touched Tsukki. So even though it was out, it was a point for Shiratorizawa, because Tsukki touched it last. Keep those nice reactions coming, really like to see them. And please, im begging you, watch the OVA between season 3 and 4 (Land vs Sky). It is Canon, and also in the Manga, that's the reason, why i hope you will do it.

"What if they did a re-release of all the matches with commentary as if it's like a real game" - lmfao Japan went the more obvious "just bring 2D to 3D: make the uniforms, rent a gym, call haikyuu nerds from the actual national team and top clubs, hire former national players (also haikyuu nerds) for commentary - profit" route :"D They're organizing their second Haikyuu match this year, first time with the audience (the 1st one was broadcast in 2020). It's a pretty cool event, but don't look it up cause the content&references might be spoilery x) "Is this even allowed" - reminded me of Nishida's aces lmao. You might wanna check out some videos on youtube ("Nishida aces" or smth would suffice) - he's got some insane series of amazing serves. A small correction to the subtitles at 13:18 - the ball didn't actually hit the line, they noticed that it bounced off Tsukki's hand, so it was ball touch (the gesture the ref's showing is also for ball touch). Also, you were correct when talking about the lines - so long as the ball touches any white portion of it even by the tiniest amount, it's in. Some challenges during professional games can be crazy in this regard (like the ball just barely touching the very corner).
@mence59922 жыл бұрын
that was a translation mistake. The spike did not touch the line, but Tsukki's hand, that's why is shiratorizawa point (and also why Tsukki got injured).

Always wondered why they said it touched the line
@cm61382 жыл бұрын
Not a translation thing but rather the stands not noticing tsukki touched the ball (can be hard to see what exactly happened so they have to trust the refs) and it took the focus on the injury to notice

im not sure, but i think ceiling and walls count as floor. so youll loose a point if you touched the ball and it hits the ceiling

If the ball hits the walls or the ceiling, it's out of bounds. "Out of bounds" goes from the floor, extends up the walls and to the ceiling
@ZoziBlack152 жыл бұрын
15:27 if it hits the ceiling, it's considered the same as if a player touches it and then it falls to the floor. Say, you receive > ball goes so high up it hits the ceiling > the receiving team loses a point. Professional stadiums of course are typically high enough that it isn't an issue. But sometimes school tournaments are held in places where you should be accounting for that while you play. Typically we anyway want to control how we receive, so we'd learn how to soften the impact with moving our bodies and arms _just so_, to keep the ball from going too far up. You've seen both Nishinoya and Daichi receive in a similar fashion, letting the force of impact knock them back, which softens how far the ball bounces off their arms.

Look like he really means no offense on that, but resting bitch face and all. Tendo Satori. The name SATORI is name of a youkai (Japanese monster/ghost) which has an ability to read mind. So, the GUESS MONSTER.

If the ball hits the ceiling on your side and then goes over the net, the ball is dead and will result in a side out or point. However, if a ball hits the ceiling on your side and returns down on your side, you may play the ball. All back row players may only attack from behind the attack line. From internet

It is quite common in very traditional japanese families that they force the left-handed child to write and do things right-handed. They don't accept anything "different", homosexuality, different career choices, being left-handed... these are abhorrent things. However in Volleyball being left-handed is a highly effective and differentiated skill and a hallmark of the greatest aces and strikers. The irony.

btw i know this may be a bit late to comment but it was overruled because tsukki touched the ball the it went out, the reason being why he was cut, i believe ut was just a wrong translation, since the sign made by the ref means that it was touched by the hand. Second i don't know about the rules in Japanese Volleyball but here in our country if the ball hits the ceiling the first time, no point will be lost or won and the serving team gets to serve again, but if it happens the second time then the team who hit it to the ceiling the second time will be giving a point to the opposing team, so basically the first hit to the ceiling will be given a warning then the second will result in lost points
