I'm gonna be honest the original is probably in my top three favorite Ys final boss themes and this basically blows it out of the water. Koguchi the GOAT but he can definitely be outclassed at his own game. Look forward to hearing more!

Such a banger👌🎉! I love the mix of different instruments and the changing of the tones. Its like a cake with different flavors on the inside and it tastes so good because they were mixed to an exact science. So when you cut into this cake, you get to taste the delights of the many "instruments" of flavor :3

Heavenly arrange, the amount of effort and detail sounds insane. Also, the music box at the end made me feel like I was listening to a Revo song. Outstanding work!

I know absolutely nothing about this franchise but it sounds better than the OG. That's my two cents. Thank you, algorithm.

The long awaited arrange is finally here, and let no one say it wasn't worth the wait! The only thing that held Koguchi's OG back was the arrangement, and that's one of the things you're really good at. Your instruments sound great as usual, and your little additions like the chimes at 2:44 and the new ending are très soul. The video editing is a nice touch to everything too. This arrange also kind of gives me the feeling that I hear games like Ocarina of Time 3D described as giving people, like it looks, or in this case sounds, how they remembering it sounding. That's an impressive feat if you ask me. Also, the quick, descending guitar note in the intro and at 3:50 is here! I was wondering about its absences in the previews you posted, and figured you were just saving it for the second play of the intro. It's one of my favorite little details of the OG for one reason or another, so I'm glad to see it present in both spots. We're two for two now of Aoki + Koguchi being a big-time winning combo, you love to see it. I would absolutely pay for this arrangement if you ever list it on Bandcamp or somewhere.

"très soul" LOL This chime melody is actually in the OG, if you listen closely! Arvin pointed it out to me, so thank him. I don't really like posting WIPs because a ton of stuff is by definition unfinished in them, but yeah, although I sometimes forget or fail to hear stuff, my policy with arranges is "make it as close to 100% accurate as possible first, then improve on it where you think it's warranted". You'll notice that as a result of this policy, I changed... something at 3:39, because I thought it would sound better that way. I'll let you find out what that is
@MaskedKingDavid8 ай бұрын
@@AokiKatsumata I wow, I hear the chimes melody in the OG now, must have never noticed them before. Kudos to Arvin indeed. That seems a really solid policy with arrangements, yeah. As for the 3:39 change... I hear some low, horn-sounding instrument, but I think that's in the OG as well? It's just way quieter and more off to the lower, left side there, whereas it's more centered/slightly to the right in yours, not to mention more noticeable. So, if it's not there in the OG, you added it, if it is then you made the changes I noted. The only other idea that comes to mind is that that final quick bunch of drums, when the violin is just starting up again after its pause, is dramatically more pronounced, and that's the change, but I kinda doubt it's that or changing the horn-sounding thing if it was there in the original... I also thought on multiple occasions I was able to count something to eight during the 3:39 section in the OG, but only to seven in your arrange, but I'm not able to concretely point out what or confirm for sure yet whether I'm wrong or not...
@AokiKatsumata8 ай бұрын
@@MaskedKingDavid Incorrect! It's more obvious than all that. Take a step back and listen to the part as a whole while A/Bing with the OG, rather than scrutinize the details, and you might get it
