I first watched daiya in middle school, right now after re-visiting the series as an adult it just got better and better for me as well. especially the different dynamics and parallels of some characters is just so masterfully done.

Yes!! Looking at the series with fresh eyes made me appreciate so many more aspects than I did before. Kid me loved the action mostly but I missed a lot of the nuance for sure

I first came across daiya when I wanted a long sports anime to binge, and I finished all 3 seasons SO fast. I had no experience in baseball, so all the terms they used confused me a lot, and I had to google what they meant, haha. At first i really couldnt stand eijun but gradually I came to love him, hes my favourite character in daiya! (i do get second hand embarrassment from him sometimes tho HAHA) The arc with chris being his mentor was so amazing, i think i almost cried when chris returned to help him when he got the yips. I can gush about daiya all day but I personally rlly loved eijun and okumura dynamic. The way their relationship started out so rough makes their development later on so much better. The way okumura respects eijun's skills despite it all and took the initiative to talk and listens to eijun's troubles and feelings later on, it's amazing to see how far they've come. I agree with you saying there's so much more that could be explored, like how okumura and eijun can develop to be one of the core batteries in Seidou after miyuki graduates. There's just so many possibilities, yknow.

yes ahh i know what you mean. the first time around i found eijun a little annoying but i have grown to love him so much, that is my son!! i'm excited for the new season on the anime to see more of the developments in act 2 come alive. i would pay good money to see an act 3 though and how the team really evolves after miyuki's graduation 👁

I watched the anime and then read the manga this year, and omg, I love it so much! Miyuki is also my favorite character. And I agree that a match between Seidou and Ichidai was the highlight of Act 2. I wish this manga was more popular, it's impossible to buy it in my country. I'm so excited for the new season of the anime! ❤

Yakushi best rival team fs. Mei has some of the best moments in the entire series. and Amahisa is just highly entertaining all the time. Yeah Ichidai- Seido is the best match. The biggest highlight for me in Act 2 is still seeing Sawamura and Furuya's rivalry reach new heights and then Okumura's character. I really loved Okumura and Sawamura relationship. We need act 3! more Ace Sawamura and pro storyline

Agreed the rivalry aspect was so so good and seeing their dynamic mature was so great. They’ve both really come far as people and players throughout the course of the series. I would love to see an act 3 ug as much as I love miyuki all the other catchers were kind of doomed to the shadows. The first years definitely got the short end of the stick in act 2
