Your description and criticism of You Feel it Just Below the Ribs made me want to pick it up immediately lol We talked about it already but I’m so glad you loved Far From the Tree! If I remember correctly that was my number one favorite book the year I read it also. I really need to read The Secret History. I’ve read another “dark academia” book and I didn’t like it at all but I’ve heard enough good things about TSH to give it a try. Hope you read a lot more great books in 2024!

happy new year! and haha everyone goes at their own pace! i find audiobooks are the best way for me to read since it leaves me free to do other things at the same time like chores or journalling so that is how i get through them quickly

Btw for the maidens, it has a prequel it called the silent patient Not a 100% prequel but like a diff book in the same “universe” w some shared characters

I want that Battle Royale. I hate that the manga is so hard to get a hold of. Hopefully they reprint it. 🤞🏼 I'm definitely going to pick up the novel and may take me all year to read it but I'm gonna do it ! Hahaha thanks for sharing!

yes omg the novel is so good, it is long and looks intimidating but i found that i flew through it since the story is so fast-paced and action heavy,, good luck!!

I'm also dabbing my feet in the book reading world atm and kinda getting to know what I like. 30 books is impressive tho, I read 22, my goal was 20, but this year I'm going to try and read 30 books lol.

Hani And Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating was a cute queer read I’d recommend! Sadly, I read the same author’s first book the Henna Wars and was let down by that :/ would probably give my favorite book of the year to The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin. Will definitely have to check out the Holly Jackson stuff and your five star read!

Britt-Marie was first introduced in "My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologies" and I feel Britt-Marie's book would be more enjoyable after reading that one. But alas. 😅
