I been following you for awhile, but I just want to appreciate your summaries of series. I hate when ppl are like “I won’t spend too much time on explaining.” On a list, let alone a top manga list. Like youre supposed to sell me to read it I always feel. Also I loved all of 20th century boys except it’s rushed ending. I’m interested in under the bridge series and I keep forgetting to read sunny. But it’s definitely on my priorities to get, especially your little small fact that it could’ve been author’s personal experience. 🖤

i try my best! haha i guess i am kinda like a salesperson for these series (manga publishers hmu?!) and yes sunny was definitely a gorgeous series! i’m sure some of it is based off personal experience but i don’t want to assume anything however the characters are all very raw and real, worth the read

Even “messed up and sad” seems like a understatement for rainbow 😭 still love the story though. Also, glad to see more ppl appreciate kids on the slope truly love it,seriously ENGLISH RELEASE WHEN!!?!?😩

i didn’t want to be too graphic in my description of the series but ya words like tragic and heartbreaking might be more appropriate lol and agreed more people need to be exposed to kids on the slope, so underrated

OMG! I'm super glad to find someone who also loves Sakamichi No Apollon!! It's also one of my faves and is the reason why I got into collecting mangas haha! I rarely see it in people's manga collection, and it is so underrated! It's kinda sad because if it were officially published in English, many more people would come to know and love it T__T

I would love to have manga volumes of Lovely Complex. I watched the anime a long time ago and fell in love. It's such a good story!!! It's a crime that the volumes are hard to come by. Also, now I feel slightly interested in reading 20th Century Boys.

for sure, really unfortunate that some of the volumes aren't in print anymore :/ and 20th century boys is definitely an epic read, one that's better all at once though there are a lot of details and characters to keep track of

Assassination Classroom and Bakuman are on my tbr list for 2022 to read on SJ app. Definitely will check out the anime for Rainbow and Kids on the Slope, sounds like the type of series I enjoy to watch. I also need to pick up A Silent Voice boxset as I kind of didn't liked the anime movie, it felt really rushed to me. And also, last week I binged og Genshiken anime and really liked it. I had never heard of the series before seeing it on your instagram stories. It's much better than most of this seasons anime for sure! :)

I love Silent Voice and I definitely need to check out High School Debut, sound like something I might like :) I can imagine that it has a "stereotyplical premise" that will be quite entertaining and just fun to read :D a manga along the lines is also Defying Kurosaki-kun, in case you are looking for even more new things to read ^^

OMG Taiyo Matsumoto for me is like god his ink work is sublime surreal and nihilistic there’s nothing like it ! I’m saving Sunny because I can’t get enough of the artist . Caveat : Viz Signature has his four volumes No 5 series and two are already in print volume three cones out Jan 18th 2022. It’s so bizarre and unworldly dystopian , again , nothing compares !!!!!

yes i love his art so much, i was first exposed to it in the ping pong anime and i was raving about it but i couldn’t convince and of my friends to watch it bc they thought the art was ugly 🙄🙄🙄 whatever but ya tekkon kinkreet is next on my list and then no.5 hopefully!

Believe it or not I think most people are averse to Matsumoto’s signature style but I immediately fell head over heals for it because it’s so far off the beaten path.and unorthodox. I also need to get Tekkoncrete I have the three volumes of Black and White but they’re buried in book boxes and lost UFN. I didn’t want Ping Ping to end and will slowly digest the six volumes of Sunny :-)

Amazing list so far (I'll come back to complete the video when I have free time, about to head to college), I especially love Bokurano! It's one of my all time favorites. I also really love the Kids on the Slope Anime, and I wish there was an English release of the Manga. A Silent Voice is another one of my favorite Manga! :-) Still haven't read it yet, but I have seen the Anime of Arakawa and loved it. I recently bought the first two volumes. (Or I guess technically 4 since they are omnibus volumes?) Also OMG, Ping Pong The Animation is my favorite Anime of all time. I really have to check out the Manga, and also Sunny!

sounds like we have similar tastes! glad to see we enjoy a lot of the same series,, i agree the ping pong anime is a masterpiece, the manga is also good but the anime added a lot of original backstory etc to certain characters which helped it a lot imo and the music etc

you have almost the exact same taste as me! I'm pretty particular when it comes to romance too and I can barely find any I really like. Thus, I gotta reccomend to you Kaguya-Sama Love is War (which you have probably heard of) and also School Zone Girls. SZG is a really funny girls love. Check it out!

@@tsukkinotes lets seeeee. I watched the entire anime for My Love Story & Haikyu but neither have adapted the entire manga's storyline. I saw the Silent Voice film (which mostly adapts the whole story just with some missing details I have heard) and have watched varying amounts of Kurokos (2/3 seasons), ass class (half of the first season), Bakuman (most of the first season), Ping Pong, Hikaru No Go, and Kids on the slope (a couple episodes of each I remember watching a lot of Hikaru No Go growing up especially). But sadly despite all of that never watched the anime's through to completion. OH I also watched about half of the Rainbow anime as well! But despite all that the only manga on the list where I actually legit read the manga is Bakuman and I don't think I ever read it all the way to the end! So yeah I'm a mess and realize I have a problem with commitment hahahah . . . - Jerry

22 singles and then 2 singles for 21st century boys but there are 12 of the omnibuses total (the singles are oop though so the omnis are probably the best way to go imo)
