Hi - I work for a production company and we are making a documentary commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the tragedy. I was wondering if you had any information regarding the sources of the archive footage that you used? Thank you in advance
My heart goes out to all the people that were affected by this monster. I've watched many films of the devastation, none of them probably even come close to what it had to be like being a first-hand witness to this! All my prayers, love and support go out to people of Thailand, and everyone else affected by this horrible tragedy.
Hello, I'm from a documentary company called BriteSpark Films and we'd love to include your footage in our upcoming documentary memorialising the Boxing Day Tsunami 2004. Please would you let me know the best way to contact you so that I might answer any questions you have about how we intend to include your footage and in what context? Hope to hear back from you soon!
I hope their local government has worked with scientists on an early ⚠️ system for the entire area.

In Phuket there were sign plates showing the way to evacuate in case of tsunami warning when I was there in 2006

@@isasala9111 I doubt that they have the sirens like we have in Hawaii. Every time an earthquake happens somewhere near Hawaii, that could generate a tidal wave, our early ⚠️ siren comes on along with complete interruption of all electronic devices. We then know how long before the wave arrives. The scientists & system can never predict the SIZE however. I have evacuated many times, and the waves were only a few inches or feet in size, but I hope that they have a similar system, but sadly I don't think so. No sirens, no interruption of radio/ wifi/ or tv.😔

@@isasala9111 As of 2020 both buoys used as an early warning system for tidal waves are offline. It was working in 2012, went out again in 2018, and as far as the research goes remains out as of 2020, sadly.
