Why would the wave breaking have anything to do with it? It still would have flooded and smashed through everything on the coast regardless. When water is displaced, it's gonna flood out whether it makes a wave or not.

Phoenix CZ In real life the displaced mass of water will go further until loss of energy which creates it. So 50m wave in Baltic Sea will cause total mayhem many kilometers inland because height of land by the sea is relatively low.

No? You are wrong about that. Do a search of the word "megatsunami ". It should give you a link to an incident in Alaska back into the 1950's. A man and his son survived the incident. Study of tree growth indicates the tsunami (generated by a landslide) wave was a little over 1,700 feet.

A tsunami doesn't behave in the open ocean as it does close to shore. A ship passing over a fast-moving wave might experience a rough descent or a small bump, but wouldn't be faced with a towering wall of water - that only happens closer to the shore, where the water displacement rises in accordance with the level of the sea.
